Th only thing we might have over any other team not named OKC is some kind of endorsement kicker with Nike or his other endorsements if he comes to LA. I can't say it would likely be higher than that extra 100 mill OKC can give him next summer though.

Bu I'm curious, that graphic doesn't indicate if OKC can give Durant that and sign Westbrook to a max deal too, so is it misleading us into thinking KD would want to stay even if OKC can't afford him and Westbrook?

Bull****. Calling that right now easily. They need to sign multiple FAs AND Kevin? With what cash? They have quite a bit less than us. They better trade away all their mediocre talents for no cash back. There's little chance they could juggle some list of guys AND get Durant.

If such a list existed the Lakers would have it too and have an easier time accomplishing the feat of creating room AND getting the guys Durant wants. But that report is bull**** and that list does not exist.

Well they have the Bird Rights to Russell so they CAN pay him no matter what. The problem is OKC has proven they're cheap so they'd have to shed salary and thus talent to do it.

yeah, don't get how boston can form a super team that the lakers couldn't.

but this would require orchestration on durant's end, not la's or boston's.

That was a quote I think taken out of context from something I posted a couple pages back. He said he'd be okay with it depending on who we got and if it'd help the team AND as long as he got the same amount of minutes. Basically he was saying he'd be okay with being a Sixth Man, but not just a rotation player.

Lol. Yeah. This seems like it was concocted entirely by a fan who thinks that maybe if he "reports" this, it will plant the idea in Durant's head that it could work. Oh, and publicity for himself. I mean, with Durant, they'd be at 80 or so million if they can't unload some of those contracts. I mean, they'd have to probably give up a pick or two along with Amir Johnson to open up a second max slot, possibly the 3rd pick since at that point they'd be desperate and other teams would know it. BUT...theoretically...if they traded Amir Johnson and all their first round picks EXCEPT the 3rd pick in order for someone to absorb his 12 million dollar salary next season, then they trade that 3rd pick for Okafor, then they don't extend the qualifying offers to Sullinger and Zeller, they could conceivably sign Horford to a max deal. Then they run out a lineup of

    Okafor
    Horford
    Durant
    Crowder
    Thomas

with Bradley and Smart off the bench. That team has a chance to win the East. In fact, I say they do all this anyway and then maybe make a run at DeRozan if they can't get Durant. Even replacing DeRozan with Durant makes them the second best team in the East.

Not to mention that this is totally tampering.

Or you know, the Lakers can sign Horford and Durant without shedding their young talent and still have room left over for a ring chasing vet.

    Russell
    Clarkson (QO)/Williams
    Durant/Ingram/A. Brown
    Randle/Nance Jr.
    Horford/Black (QO)

With 10,859,210 million left to spend. I think that team is every bit as good as the one the C Bags could muster if they do ALL that juggling you just said and they'd STILL have room to add to that group. You can get a dump candidate like Jose Calderon (who would still leave us with 2+ million although we'd likely just use that with Jordan and Tarik). You could maybe go after Koufos as a dump candidate and take back a pick from Sacramento. Or maybe you get Jeremy Lin or Brandon Jennings in there as your backup PG.

That team rocks the team the C Bags would juggle for.

But our team has to go through the West. I wonder if Durant considers the East and Boston because he knows he's one well-timed twisted ankle by Lebron from having a cake walk into the Finals. Lebron has been ducking the West for years while jumping from one stacked situation in the East to another.

There is one glaring issue with that lineup.

If that's the case, I don't want Durant.

I can't imagine KD leaving OKC right now. I hope we focus on Biyombo and some other players. I don't even want one of our max slot offerings tied up in waiting on KD.

I don't see paying any other SF's the max personally. I bet Harrison Barnes gets an offer, and I bet they match.

We'll probably max a center, draft Ingram, and fill in with solid vets

I do think David Lee is part of our off season equation for multiple reasons, which makes me wonder about Nance...

Have you read something about Lee? Cause with Nance and Randle on the roster, I can't see us going after a player who is pretty much a pf and pf only. If we go after someone who plays the 4, I assume whoever it is will also be able to either play the 5 or the 3 for a little more versatility and to allow them a way to get minutes.
