It's spelled Biyombo, but Biyumbo might make a good marketing name with some sort of candy bar. :D

Seems to be some disagreements in Biyombo's price tag. Before tonight's game, Windhorst said he spoke to some GMs who said he could get upwards of $14m. Meanwhile Sporting News came out tonight and said (according to their sources), he's in line for a $20m pay day. Unfortunately I feel as though the latter is the more likely.

I'm guessing it depends on the years attached. A one or two year deal probably costs 20 million, but if you give a full four years maybe 14 million is a decent starting point?

My FA center order of preference:
    Whiteside
    Horford
    Biyombo
    Noah

Noah is a great fit as vet leader and for the type of offense we will be running but he is fragile. Maybe Luke can help him be our Bogut (who was also oft injured). But if we get Noah, I'd like to go after Mahimi as well and/or keep Black.

Maybe we'll sometimes go small with Randle or Nance at C too.

I agree but wouldn't you rather have horford? Who is a vet and will give us something on the court too? ( not to say he's mr health)

What he currently is works well on a talented team like the warriors. If bogut played on the lakers his weakness would be exposed a lot more. IMO

Well Noah is better than Bogut and actually a better fit in the offense, but yes you're correct. Bogut in LA wouldn't look as good but that's really not important. We're not the Warriors, we're just trying to build to their level with a similar offensive scheme. That scheme works best with a big who can pass and defend which Noah fits to a tee. As long as you have a competent, athletic, defensive minded Center behind him, Noah is a great addition.

Not to mention the off-court and locker room presence he provides for our youth who are struggling to find the right path. They know how to work hard, but someone needs to show them how to win at the highest levels.

Im def not against Noah on the lakers, but I would prefer someone like horford. Biyambo looks great, but not sure how much upside he has. Many reports say its iffy how old he really is. He might be closer to 30 than we think. I like the idea of Noah in the locker room holding people accountable.

So one guy I haven't seen much of discussed on here (maybe a few times) is Chandler Parsons.

Looks like he will decline his P/O and test FA. Pretty good 3 pt shooter, good efficiency numbers probably wouldn't cost the max coming off injury only 27 (like Demar). If his medicals check out and you could get healthy Parsons for the injury Parsons price, he could be a nice fit here.

He might thrive here, but there are some who won't want him for obvious reasons.

I actually like Parsons but his injury history pretty much completely scares me off.

Yeah I have Horford ahead by a little bit. Hard to pass on an All-Star.

Yeah Parsons is a huge red flag with his injury history. He would be a great addition without it.

I want Horford because we don't have an offensive threat in the Center position since Bynum

Parsons had a surgery that was described as sort of a "hybrid microfracture" type surgery. Don't care that the first word is hybrid when the second word in that procedure is microfracture. But injuries aside, Parsons doesn't make sense when you consider we will have Randle/Ingram at the forward spots. With our pf spot set (Randle/Nance) and sf minutes going to our potential franchise player (Ingram...or even Simmons if he drops) why would we spend as much as it would cost to get Parsons for a backup?

As far as Parsons' game, I really like it and I really like it for this team...when he's healthy.

Last night's game was not a good look for DeRozan OR Biyombo. I waffle back and forth on DeRozan. Sometimes I'm good with it, other times it scares the hell out of me that we'd be paying max money to a dude who can't shoot from the outside and who just SUCKS during the playoffs. DeRozan isn't just playing a little subpar when the playoffs start. He looks like a different player. I honestly don't think the Lakers will pursue either. John Ireland's comments a week or two ago were very telling as it pertains to the DeRozan/Lakers potential relationship, as he kind of squashed the well held media belief that DeRozan is "drooling" to come here. As far as Biyombo, Mitch and Jim have made certain that we will have NO bad contracts on our roster. While I still do believe Biyombo will be a serviceable center, I don't see them overpaying on a guy who hasn't ever really put more than a few games together in a row. Age and injury history aside, I think they would be more comfortable with a stop gap/mentor like Noah than Biyombo.
