Limping toward the finish line. Yikes. 10-1 going into Stanford. I think it's cool that in the four years since a good friend of mine (and long time CL poster) declared Notre Dame irrelevant, they've gone 38-12, have played for a National Championship, have gone 2-1 in bowl games, and are eyeing a bid in the playoff system.
No defense, no championship. Word on the street is there's a possibility ND plays FSU in Atlanta. That would be sweet.
Flew to Houston where my brother lives. Drove to Austin. Spent some time exploring a pretty cool city. Watched my beloved Irish get out coached and lose while setting an attendance record. Good trip. Almost back to Orlando.
A gaggle of high ranking teams were upset...except 'Bama. Takes the sting out of my alma mater #16 UCLA falling short against Texas A&M.
Long time since i posted in here. I was at the bowl game today. First time I’ve seen them win in person.
So, the Irish are 10-0. This is four straight 10-win seasons, and they're 43-6 in that span. 33-3 in the last two. Hard to believe Book may have played his last regular season game with the Irish. He has been a legend.
Well, another 10-win season for the Irish! The Good First time in school history with 10+ wins five consecutive seasons. Also, the first time with higher than 75% win% for five consecutive seasons - at least since 1924. The Bad They're a better team than Cincy, but Kelly couldn't figure out the QB situation that game. Real shame. Should be undefeated. The Ugly I don't think they'd get crushed by Georgia or OSU, but I don't think they're quite on that level.
Absolutely stunned. Growing up with Lou Holtz, I am a tough judge of ND coaches. Kelly is the best of the bunch, and I'm very sad to see him go.
Not going to lie. I became a believer in Kelly in his time with the Irish. He took them to a consistently very good level. Never won a title, but he did everything else. Grateful for his time with the Irish. But I'm all in on Marcus Freeman.
Irish crack the top 10. Really weird season. No passing game for most of the season, a loss to NIU, but the Irish have now beaten three ranked teams along the way, and they have one left on their schedule. Definitely in control of their own destiny.
