Might as well see how Swaggy fits on this team. He and Lou could provide a potent 1-2 punch off the bench, but it seems clear that if Young doesn't adjust then he'll be the one to go. If everyone buys in then it could work of magnificently. If not, then we see what he nets us as we approach the trade deadline. Given the interesting terms of Brown's contract, they clearly feel confident in the next man in line if Young doesn't get with the program.

I think with more vets on the roster that are actually playing, they have a chance of keeping him in check and turning down the childish adolescent behavior

That never helped in his previous stops that had vets on the team.

He was the only guy (i think it was a game vs. Suns) that didn't wan't to lose and almost get his butt kicked.
Most of the time though, he ia all about fun and smiles...

At least he won't be the ONLY mature influence on the floor at one time though.

Boozer? Lin? HIll? Yeah, wasn't working well.

Kobe will tell him to wipe that stupid smile off his face, and to try to outperform Iggy for a change.

People seem to easily forget that on some nights he was the only one competing on the court. When everyone else was packed up and ready to be done with the season, Nick wasn't take s*** from anybody. When everyone was rooting for losses, Nick was trying to win games.

Most of these critiques on him are for his personality and not for his game. He's no longer a top player on the team, with our moves he's moved down the totem pole all the way to 7th man on the roster. He's going to do very well in that position. You guys are asking way too much out of guy that is a career microwave off the bench. We can use that this season AND his defense, which he does play, which few give him credit for.

Sorry, but he's a duphas, and grading him on the curve in relation to last year's roster isn't fair. To us.

If he's gone, he won't really be missed. I'd rather watch good basketball than an entertaining interview after a loss.

When Spears and Woj are reporting that Nick is a prime prospect for his contract to be unloaded, their probably right. The only reason why kept him is because we couldn't unload that contract. Acting like a jacka** doesn't win any point with me. Either way, he'll be gone at some point this season or next when him and Byron get into it again.

This might be my blind spot, but I swear Nick Young can contribute, and will look better with Kobe playing and with this new team. The unearned swag really gets on a lot of nerves (Iggy seems to ruffle as many feathers so they are a good pair). If he can turn his mouth down to stun instead of kill, I think he will redeem himself. I agree the defense criticism of him is historical and does not reflect his capability. He just isn't the first option that he was made at times on the court because of our "tentative" pg play last season.

Nick and Lou might be kinda redundant, but I can guarantee there will be times next season when they both feed off of each other and catch fire at the same time. It's gonna be fun to watch, and having that much offensive firepower off the bench has the potential to turn entire games around in a few minutes.

The bench is terrific actually. As long as there is some chemistry between them.

Something fascinating is happening with our signings. The floor keeps lifting. I'm counting on very little from Kobe this coming season, but I still have our realistic win range at 37.5-41.

    Starters
    Russell
    Clarkson
    Kobe
    Randle
    Hibbert

    Second Unit
    Lou Williams
    Jabari Brown
    Nick Young
    Brandon Bass
    Tarik Black

    Third String
    ?
    Anthony Brown
    Larry Nance
    Ryan Kelly
    Robert Upshaw

Our second unit is honestly better than what we put on the floor most nights as a starting unit last year.

What I love is that the 2nd unit provides us with SO MUCH depth. We've struggled with injuries now for two straight years, record setting kind of injuries! Well right now we're deep enough to run a 10-11 man rotation successfully. I doubt Byron does it, so another way of looking at is that if someone goes down for a period of time, we've got a guy who can step into those shoes pretty readily.

That's a damn good second unit. I would like another pg, moving Lou to SG and Brown to the 3rd string. But realistically, either JC or russell will probably see some time with them.

We have two explosive scorers and two physical defensive bigs, Black and Bass will be needed with the limitations on that end of the floor from Young and Lou.

Maybe we can ditch Sacre for an older Vet - like Ronnie Price type.

When you hear Byron talk about Swaggy that doesn't sound like too promising for Nick ;) ...

If he's not traded before the season he might be trade bait at the deadline
