    Bench Young? Hmm...not smart, Byron.

You're right on the money. There was a poster on Club Lakers named 'Roscooter;' He called this last year before the season had even begun...he said there would be friction because Byron has a more 'disciplined' approach and Nick isn't the most disciplined of players. Nevertheless, I don't really care. I could care less for Byron as a coach, and quite frankly, I'm tired of Nick's manufactured image.

I hope he does bench, Nick, though. More fuel for the tank...

He's a goof, and needs to take his craft seriously. Too talented to be all jrrider with it. His assist level is embarrassing.

I thought Kenzo might be referring to a possible 'disconnection' between player and coach...oh, well. My fault if I misinterpreted.

"That will be the second time I will tell him," Scott said. "There won't be a third."

Through 31 games, Young is averaging 14.3 points and 2.4 rebounds while shooting 36.9 percent from the field. Last season, he averaged a career-best 17.9 points per game while shooting 43.5 percent from the field.

Nick's response? "Chill Coach ..... I got bigger problems" [IMG] [IMG][/QUOTE]

I personally think that just like Kobe, Byron could be good for Nick. Unfortunately they seem to have a Dennis the Menace/Mr Wilson vibe to their relationship.

I don't like the way Byron expressed the three strike message to Nick. He is volatile and under media and personal stress (self inflicted who knows/who cares) and inevitably he will mess up again on the court probably. What does Byron do next if Nick messes up, bench him, trade him, knock out his teeth and make him eat Kobe's bone broth soup for the rest of his life?

Byron needs to talk to Nick personally. Not in a caring sharing new age way, but respectfully. Nick may seem like he came out of a kids movie, but he is a thirty year old vet. Set a standard but allow him the chance to make mistakes. Nick knows how to play properly but he also knows the score. He has been in losing teams many times, and Byron can't act like that is not what this season is. Nick has been bombing 3's and forgetting about the things he has done to improve his game this year, and shooting like he is one shot away from igniting a 50 point game, meanwhile his passing, defense and overall game is stagnating.

My hope is Byron is harsh but fair, outlining what Nick needs to do and not do clearly. Byron feels he shouldn't have to do such things, but take some time from designing all your elaborate schemes and timeout plays. Be a leader, not just a dictator and get inside the head of Swaggy. Help him understand where you are coming from rather than yelling at him - at his heart away from the hype Nick is a baller and you can use him next year.

You could have been totally right. I was thinking of Lorena Bobbitt when he said it. [IMG] [IMG]

Nick Young plays like he is an alien from a civilization who predicated their knowledge of the game from equal parts NBA All Star Game and Space Jam.

Unfortunately he can only be a sparkly cog in a machine rather than an engine/leader that drives a winning team. I enjoy watching him play and he at least looks like he gives a damn.

I hope he doesn't go on some personal crusade and we end up winning more games than we should have like last season.

I love Nick. I doubt he'd do much of anything to sway most players, but it doesn't hurt having a few guys provide continuity here. Nick is an easy teammate to get along with even in his faults. I'd love to hear his conversations with guys on the court.

Nick Young has left Staples Center without taking to reporters. #doghouse

Byron said Nick was asked a question at halftime about defensive assignment and responded in a way that Byron didn't like.

I don't even know where I stand on this. On the one hand Byron has the reputation of pissing off and losing players, and on the other, Young is a knucklehead. So I don't even know where to side. All I do know is that top 5 pick is getting closer and closer to being ours.

I can care less one way or another about either of those two...however, Nick just signed a 4 or 5 year deal and so did Byron; if there is already discord, Young will be gone. Bye, bye, swaggy.

Young f***ed up. I know Byron's approval rating isn't great right now, but he did the right thing.

It sounds like Young is getting frustrated playing here right now. There's some outside rumors that seemed to crop up right when he stopped being the "Swaggy P" we all enjoy. The guys in the broadcast booth showed a video of Nick drifting aimlessly on the court tonight defensively. It was embarrassing.

If he had a smartmouth response to Byron then he deserved to be sat down. It's the right move by Scott. We can't afford to let our losing create the wrong culture. Just because we lose, doesn't mean we want the players trying to lose otherwise they don't belong here. Most of these guys won't be here long, but I'd like a few to hold over. Young needs to be one of them. Wayne and Tarik could be the other two.

"At halftime, we showed stuff on the tape where he was guarding [Houston swingman Corey] Brewer in the corner. I asked [Young], 'What were you thinking on his play?' The answer he gave me, I couldn't figure it out. So I just felt with his body language that he didn't want to play tonight, so I chose not to play him."

He think he's Kobe, Byron. He thinks he can't play defense and you won't hold him accountable...
