Yes and no. We are all in with our young guys. We also have a pick or 2 coming up in the draft. So we are trending upward with paul george or not. In the past, we had nothing going for us and were "all in" in the cap space plan
It's different as this is the 1st time a player clearly says : "my current team or the Lakers" . Instead of trading for him , I will make sure to show him we are serious about winning by trading for another big time player during this summer
I'd take anything. Playoff hunting teams with 2nds: Boston (36, 55, 58) NO (39) HOU (40, 44) CHA (42) MIL (45) UTAH (46,53) IND (48) TOR (51) WAS (54) SAS (59) Or of course a future 2nd pick.
If we can get a early-mid 2nd rounder for Nick, take it without hesitation. Free up more time for the youngins to sink or swim, likely helps the tank, and also opens up more playing time for Deng/Brewer. If we're tanking, might as well try to improve their trade value so maybe they could be bundled into an offseason trade
What kind of stupid polling is that? Might as well have said, hey, I gave everyone a flower. And told them to pick at the peddles saying he loves me, he loves me not until you got your answer and then tell me and ill put it on this lame a** poll of mine.
I try and get Nick to Cha, Tor or NO. Any second round pick would be good, for this draft or future. Think a team is desperate enough to give up two 2nd round picks?
If the Lakers want to tank in order to keep their picks, they won't trade for Paul George now but in the summer. Not sure where these fantasy come from.
nick young for a second? and how many picks do we need in one year? this is the same thing i've criticized boston and philly for at times. and before everyone says "but boston and philly have ALL the assets", they've also been forced to cut and dump some of these first rounders because there's not enough roster room for them (either period or for development). if young's going for a second, it should be a future second with some kind of backward protection that guarantees it's in the top 40. i could live with that. but another second this year? why? i might rather take my chances on re-signing young. it's not like we're going to find a cheaper, better wing in FA, and he's already taken less money to stay here once.
if real, seems like trolling anyway. i think it's good to be on the pacers'/george's radar, but this is the wrong time to really attempt a trade for him.
