And it's a good one. Indiana shouldn't be in a rush to make a move. They'll test the waters, but it makes more sense for them to wait I think.

If we keep our pick, gotta pull the trigger on a Russell+Randle package for Butler this summer.

    2018-19 starting 5

    Ball or Fultz
    Butler
    Ingram
    George
    Zu

Or, if our youngsters realize their potential, a homegrown team would be nice:

    Ball or fultz
    Russell/Clarkson
    Ingram
    George/randle
    Zu

Far as I can tell that "insider" was throwing 3 trades out there "for fun" and said nothing about hearing something from a source. Young may be traded, but there appears to be nothing behind that particular guarantee.

If that went down, I'd actually be terrified. Cause that means our GM made some sort of deal with Satan and we'd eventually have to pay up. :D

I've wanted George to be the heir to Kob since Granger was still considered more valuable. He's one of the few players I'd sell the farm for. 2 of Ingram/DLO/Randle/Clarkson and Houston's pick. Need reassurance he's staying tho.

    On that 27th pick...

Over the past ten seasons, here are the numbers of the #27 picks:
Only one of them (Bogdanovic) hasn't yet played in the NBA.
Two more were out of the NBA prematurely.
4.3 is the average duration (but six of them are still active).
Three of them played at least 8 seasons in the NBA.

    Minutes Per Game
Only two played less than 10 MPG
    Three played 10-20
    Five have played 20+
    23.0 is the average
    28.4 is the highest

    POINTS
    Two averaged <5 PPG
    Five averaged 5-10 PPG
    8.6 PPG is the average
    Two averaged 10+
    12.2 is the current best

    REBOUNDS
    One averaged under 2.5
    Six averaged 2.5-5.0
    4.1 is the average
    Two averaged 5+
    9.5 is the current best

    ASSISTS
    Four averaged <1 Assist
    Four averaged 1-2 assists
    1.4 is the average
    1 Averaged 3+
    3.2 is the current best

    Value Over Replacement
Only two were below replacement level
    The average is .1 VORP
Four players have 1+ value over replacement
Three have 5+ value over replacement
One has 10+ value over replacement

On Current LA Team, those averaged would rank...
    8th in minutes per game
    6th in PPG
    7th in RPG
    8th in APG
    6th in VORP

So, in essence, the 27th pick is getting a slightly above average NBA player.

From 2001 to 2010, the #27 pick produced Samuel Dalembert, John Salmons, Kendrick Perkins, our very own Sasha Vujacic, Linas Kleiza, Sergio Rodriguez, Aaron Afflalo, Darrell Arthur, DeMarre Carroll and Jordan Crawford. That's a pretty darn good decade from a late 1st rounder.

2011 and 2012 were busts with JaJuan Johnson and Arnett Moultrie but there were some studs available within the 12 picks after. Specifically Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, Chandler Parsons and Khris Middleton but also Cory Joseph, Jae Crowder, Festus Ezeli, Shelvin Mack, Kyle Singler and hot trade asset Bojan Bogdanovic.

2013 was some guy named Rudy Gobert
2014 was someone who remains abroad, as noted
2015 was Larry Nance Jr. as we know
2016 was Pascal Siakam, who has actually started 38 games for Toronto this year

So yeah, the #27 pick has been fairly solid value-wise.
