That's a very, very big if. To me Jimmy Butler is a definite All Star. He's a terrific player. Russell at this point may never be that good.
So basically they are offering packages involving some combination of JC, Randle, Lou and potentially draft picks. Naturally Calderon is available but that's as salary-filler. They're also obviously willing to trade Deng and Moz, based on prior reports and also because it's common sense, but let's be real in that they aren't going anywhere right now. Is that enough to get a star? Maybe. Maybe not. I certainly appreciate the effort in seeing what's out there. Don't blame the team at all for wanting to keep a core of Russell, Ingram and Zubac. Those are the 3 highest upside guys on the team after all.
Hahha. Arabic is my first language and I've had to tell my American mentality friends that Allah means God in Arabic. For some reason people think it means it's Muslim God. I said no, it's just God. We said it in our home and I'm Christian. But man, people are stubborn as s***. Anyways.....getting Butler without moving Russell and Ingram would make up for the Mosgov/Deng signings two fold.
I'd move JC/Randle/Lou for Butler. I'd also move Russell/Lou for Butler or something like that. If they want Russell, they get one less stud piece OR they take on one of our albatrosses (albatri? albatrese?)
If they insist on Russell, they lose one of the others (Lou, who we can flip for another player or draft pick).
I'm not making Russell untouchable for the right player, that's silly to me. If you're the Bulls, you just get less along with Russell if you covet him that bad. But IMO it's unlikely Russ is ever as good as Butler, multiple all-star, no way he's ever as good a defender. So that's tough to me, I'm not so attached to Russ that I won't trade him if it means Jimmy Butler. Butler is on a very nice contract, and he could be piece one to finally landing quality free agent signings. And if not, he becomes a way better trade piece than anything we have now. They can't have Randle AND Russell, but they can certainly have one of them plus other pieces like Lou.
Boston still has a better deal because they have their pick. So, unless the Lakers throw ingram or Russell in there, the better deal is in Boston. JC, Randle, Lou and if the Lakers kept the top 3 pick, then that trade makes sense for the Bulls. This deal may only happen after the cards are drawn and the Lakers keep the pick.
3 team trade idea - Lakers dump Deng and keep Russell. Bulls get: Clarkson, Deng, Randle and Washington 2017 1st round pick Lakers get: Butler, Carter-Williams, Taj Gibson and Jason Smith Wizards get: Lou Williams Not happening but it actually worked salary-wise after some tinkering.
Hahaha! Ooh man the life of an Arab I know your "jihad" brother! The problem with society is we don't take the time to understand and learn a religion or culture before judging. We blindly believe everything the media brainwashes us with....Tsk tsk tsk
I haven't been watching very closely, but from what I recall, it's all about picks. Ainge will net something noteworthy with those Nets picks.
I remember reading somewhere that the bulls organization really loved Randles skill and that his potential is "skys the limit" if he ever gets a jump shot. I'm pretty sure they value randle more than jaylen brown... I think we need a third team to get this done, I like the idea of getting Lou to Washington for their pick and giving it to Chicago
I could see something like this: Bulls trade: Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson C Bags trade: Jaylen Brown, Tyler Zeller, the expiring of Amir Johnson and the Nets 2017 or 2018 1st round pick. Maybe Chicago squeezes another pick in the deal somewhere since Boston has so many. I can see Boston trying to get Gibson too. That frontcourt could sure use his toughness and defense.
I agree. I said it last night and I'll say it again amongst all these trade rumor reports. Russell, Ingram, & Zu are the guys I'd like to not trade and give more time to develop. Especially Ingram and Zu
