Better than Butler would be crazy. I see you're talking about "on a championship team," but still...on one hand I'm not sure I agree. On the other, that's rather sobering. We have a long way to go.

I agree. Magic's comments plus now being linked to Cousins/Butler indicate that to very much be the case. I don't think PG is available right now and I don't want Drummond. I don't know who else is a potential target.

Now you're just messin with me.

If you're going to start claiming personal jihad is a Christian principle, its best to use words actually used in the actual text to describe that.

Jihad has terrible meaning in the world today, and it's mainly associated with Muslims Holy War against infidels (Non Muslims)

Sorry, but it's a poor choice of a word to use in any context today. Unless of course I'm just a dullard who isn't sophisticated enough to understand what you're talking about.

We agree on most things, but not on the use of the word jihad. Sorry. I'm ok if you are offended by that. There has to be a better option that isn't offensive to such a huge part of the population.

Butler is a borderline top 10 player imo. He's a tremendous two player. Non brainer if Brandon isn't involved IMO.

I can't describe how triggered I would've been if we traded Zu.

I apologize for sidetracking the thread. I'd happily take that discussion offline.

I think I thought it was odd to see a guy singled out for a comment that wasn't really offensive, but an observation that probably holds true for most wealthy elite (Not just Indians, that just happened to be his experience), but we think it's funny when Kobe insults a fellow player in comparison to white guys. We can all be rather selective when we turn over the offended card.

And then almost immediately there is reference to jihad. I guess I fail to see the consistency in applying the standard. Maybe I'm looking at this all wrong. I'm admittedly low on sleep right now.

If this is true I'm actually kinda relieved we didn't get Cousins, combined with Ireland and his many sources calling Cousins a cancer and such.

I'd rather have Zubac at center in 2 years than cousins. Sorry. Zubac has star written all over him. He is gonna be awesome.

That's a key reason why I am fine not trading BI for Cousins. I'd rather keep Ingram and develop Zubac at C and build around that. Then move the other parts for a "star".

    And he's damn likeable.

Cousins is caustic. A time bomb.

    ***edit***

I bet Luke is glad we were unsuccessful. He's a coach killer and malcontent, and it's hard imagining him being a good example or leader for the youngins. We have.....Metta....as our vet to give him guidance?

    Bullet dodged.

Exactly. I don't trust Cousins in a pressure situation in the WCF either. He has a Alonzo Mourning temperament. Rodman use to say he could f*** up Mourning any time, any game mentally. He was almost shocked he never got passed it.

Lakers need a 2 guard, BAD. Butler is exactly what they need. If they can get him without giving up BI or Zubac and hopefully Russell, you do it.

I'm glad we didn't get Cousins. No doubt he is a beast on the court but has zero between the ears. To me it would be like trying to swing for the fences but end up regretting the choice for a long time. I know beggars can't be choosers but that also how we ended up with contracts like Deng's. Try to get anyone (albeit Cousins has tons more talent) regardless of fit, either mentally or physically is the wrong decision to make long term. Even though short term it helps you out.

Yup. It sounds right. I know the impulse is to trade Russell for a star but man, if Russell figures it out, he is Harden 2.0.

I don't want them to trade Zu either. He's on my do not trade list.

I'm Muslim man and the word jihad literally means"to struggle" unfortunately on the news that word is used as a reference to terrorism. It's like a kkk clan calling themselves the "internal struggle" group and then the word "struggle" becomes taboo. Anyways sorry for going off topic.

Getting Butler would be a steal!
