i think what hurts the most here is that it was our poor management that allowed boston to trade down to get tatum. had we simply not told the world we were drafting ball, they'd have had to sweat it out if they traded down, possibly giving us something to ensure we didn't nab him at 2.

boston had the #1 and wanted tatum, so we weren't going to get him. but we didn't have to make it easier for them to get something on top of it!

really glad magic's back to just being a fan.

Good point. Honestly I still can’t hate on the Lonzo pick in itself. I was totally on board the hype train at that point. Hindsight is 20/20. And come on, just think back to his first summer league. I think we were all excited about the tantalizing potential he showed.

I still think Lonzo is going to put it together. He just needs to stay healthy and establish a consistent rotation. He started to play very well this year, and then the shutdown killed his momentum. Once he started slumping and it became clear the Pelicans didn’t have much of a shot at the playoffs, the bubble wasn’t going to be the environment for him to break out of that funk.

But yeah, the way we projected and made it very clear we were taking Lonzo was very dumb, and that seemed to have Magic’s fingerprints all over it.

we could've had our own wing combo of ingram/tatum...i always said during that draft its Wing league and Tatum at that pt just looked so much smoother/natural bball player than ingram but thought they could play together

Didn’t matter, whoever we got was being packaged for AD after Bron came. Just glad we got Kuz for D Russ and got to keep him. If that draft were made with today’s intel Kuz would go top 7. An Ariza floor and Siakam/Middleton ceiling.

If the Bucks lose this today, I expect Dragic+Butler to not give up until they win the series. Once they can smell it... it's over. Their intensity is off the charts.

BTW, have you guys noticed how good the crowd noise is these days? They have done an excellent job with it.

That was one of the worst officiated playoff games I've ever seen, and I started following NBA basketball in the mid-80s. Fortunately for the Heat it worked out and I think they are in the driver's seat right now.

debatable.....if Zo wasnt such a scrub at that time who knows maybe we would've been able to keep him or Bi instead, or if Tatum was here n showed out along with BI only 1 might do

OKC-HOU game 7. In order for the Thunder to win this game, they need to keep it close late in the 4th. They are extremely clutch (in fact, the most clutch team in the NBA, with CP3 leading the way) and the Rockets... are not. Harden does not like to take over in the clutch, so the ball would go to Westbrook who is not the best decision maker. Let's see what happens.

CP3 will have a triple-double. I will never understand why the Rockets traded him for Russ, who is very talented, but still a lesser player. CP3 still got it. If you flip these two players, Houston wins this without too much trouble.

Houston now leaves Dort open, because he can't score... and he's drilling 3 after 3. Are they maybe... going to make an adjustment?

Fot the Thunder to win, they have to score more points than the Rockets - Magic... probably :D

Of course, Harden suddenly can't hit anything. 28% shooting, 25% for 3.

It’s amazing. He’s always been a choker I’m years past. Let’s see if he melts down tonight.

His problem in the past is that he would always get injured before or during the playoffs. Like a clock.

OK, I just looked at the box score... are you ready? The Rockets attempted 48 shots. 30 of those shots were three pointers.
