All good news. I hadn't given up hope that the NBA could resume. They just have to be careful about it and they need to secure enough testing. But all signs point towards a return this summer. Sometime in July would be great.

July would be perfect for a number of reasons, not the least of which would be the Clippers still never playing in June.

Leadership. I like that, and I can’t wait to watch some NBA basketball again. Bron & co. will be ready.

Returning to practice June 15th, and games back on July 15th is the rumor they're hearing.

Anyone have the Shams article today on the GM poll for preferences for resuming the season? I can't get access to the Athletic. I'd love to see the whole piece. If you've read it, what do they favor? I'd personally love to see them go straight to the playoffs with the top 16 teams. But I'm interested to see where they all stand.

J.J.Redick says different ,but nobody knows what is going on
The scenario I’ve heard…the top six teams are basically locked. Those seeds are locked. And they basically…they either scrimmage or play games that don’t mean anything. And then seeds seven through 11 or seven through 12 in both conferences play for seeds seven and eight,” Redick explained.

Moreover, Redick pointed out that “seeds 13 through 15 just don’t show up” and “don’t have to do anything.” This would mean the Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks would be excluded from participating.

A bit of a homer take for sure, but Pete and Anthony also said on Locked on Lakers that any sort of bubble scenario like playing at Disney World benefits the teams with the most chemistry, like the Lakers who get along extremely well, and have been rumored to be holding private workouts put together by Lebron. They then laughed thinking about the Clippers having to be even somewhat isolated together as it’s pretty well known that team doesn’t exactly love each other. Whatever the case or scenario this happens under, I’ll just be glad to get basketball back. From what they talked about on that same podcast, yes July would be when games start, and the finals would end in like late September and the draft would be in October. The scenario they brought up was having 5-10 regular season games before the playoffs, because jumping straight to playoff intensity games could be dangerous as far as risking injury, and the regular season games would be a warmup really.

If only there was some way for fans to quarantine with the teams so we could have people in the stands...

I'm so glad we are finally talking again about the season coming back. And I don't mean to take anything away from that awesome and hopeful news cycle. However, I came across this today and I was excited to finally see some love for KAJ as the GOAT from someone in the media since we've been talking about it here spurred by the Last Dance and Jordan conversation. Sauces coming through!!

Can you blame the guy? Why risk the Rona if you're not playing for anything?

His contract $ is tied up with revenue. If Lillard doesn't want to play if there isn't a way for them to make the playoffs, I understand. But he isn't being paid to play in the playoffs. He is being paid based on what the league/team can bring in and IMO, that means he should do his job. Why would it be fair for his teammates to have to play and Lillard wanting to be benched when he's the highest earner on that team and in the league? Earn your dollars, continue growing the sport, and maybe your team should have played better so this wouldn't have been an issue.
