Keegan Murray just went 41 yesterday. He couldn't buy a shot in postseason and was borderline unplayable at times. Killing it in SL doesn't mean you're ready to play in a team who HAS to win.
I don't get the pressure to speed up things. And completely trust our development crew, they have been doing a great job

Love to see Max's development. That comp above with last year's SL is amazing. Definitely deserves a shot at the rotation but will have to earn it. I like him at the 2 because he can defend and rebound, making our lineup bigger and stronger

Gotta watch this game later, but liked Max and Castleton's stats.
Not great the bad +/- of JHS/Lewis/Max

but, but, but he has to pay his dues, there is a pecking order man!... young guys can't help you win....lol...ugh.. If I had a dime for ever time I heard that bs I would be spending this coming winter in Kauai instead of Alaska. In all seriousness I do understand that in most cases that is true but with Max, Austin and I think now with Castleton we have special situations and special players. This isn't coincidence. Our scouting department is nailing it with players ready to contribute. IMO this is because they look for maturity as well as talent. It is crazy what kids are doing for basketball now. Players coming out of 8th grade have more experience than they used to coming out of high school. They aren't in awe of the older players the way they used to be. We have been hammering fundamentals into them since second grade and I'm sure around the country it is the same or even more intense. They are used to flying alone to meet up with teammates in other cities, traveling by bus, big arenas, playing high quality teams. Even when they get pounded they just keep playing. You can't intimate these guys. To further develop they just need court time against the best talent available. All this is just to say that when players get to the NBA they have been through the grinder and if they have a good head on their shoulders they can contribute. I don't think any of them should be gifted time as someone said but if they are the better player and earn time don't withhold it simply because they are young. You cheat a young player out of minutes they can never get them back. No matter how good they end up being, they would have been better or at least been better quicker if they had been given the time they earned.

I trust our scouting department more than I do Ham with his combinations.

Pre-playoff Ham lineups were sometimes head scratchers. Once the stuff counted, he seemed to not be experimenting any longer.

But the fact remains the scouting department sure has built up some serious trust with fans and a long leash after so many years of solid results and 2nd round players still in the NBA.

It kind of really kicked off with Clarkson and we all were discussing that pick here in LakerBall's maiden season in 2014.

I was a proud tank commander in those days and cracked myself up with all the gifs of them to be found.

what, 200-300 milli in contracts so far between all of them? Not bad, not bad at all. Imagine if they had a coach like Ham instead of Luke or Byron.

That was a great basket but the defensive guy completely screwed up. Still had to make the 3 point shot though!! Good on Smith!

Finally got ourselves a plethora of loooong dudes everywhere on the squad except for one last midget now in Vincent, but even there he’s a couple inches taller than Schroder was.

Good to see us get a win tonight! Max Christie is looking really good. Castleton too. I like Hodge a lot, JHS is good but needs to work on his shot badly. Cool to have some young long guys in Lewis and Fudge. Not a fan of Baugh or number 31.

Lewis had 3 really good defensive plays late in the first/ early in the second. His defensive instincts are pretty sharp. Liking what he's showing us.

Since Christie has either been the best Laker on the court or the best player on the court, I wonder when we'll shut him down. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying watching him cook. But I don't think we'll get a clear enough idea of what JHS can do today until he's given more summer league usage and that's not happening with Christie out there.

Only 1 game in, but damn.

3rd best player: Christie, 10th is Castleton.

    2nd best rookie: Castleton, JHS @ 4th

Castleton getting noticed already. but  let's not let this one get away. I wonder how it works if (unlikely but hypothetically) another team wanted to give our 2-way player an actual contract and roster spot? Am just guessing that a 2-way is somewhat like a restricted FA and we would have opportunity to match?

    OK, went a lookin' ......

Can other NBA teams call up players on two-way contracts?

No. Players on two-way contracts have their NBA rights owned by the team they signed that contract with.

This is new protection for teams, but will limit the player’s opportunities in essence. If their team doesn’t need their services that season, then they might not get called up, or if they are then they might not see meaningful minutes in the NBA. This is the trade off players have to gamble with — take the likely $275,000 and potentially limit opportunities or roll the dice and hope for a call up elsewhere.

    Neemias Queta (Kings)
    Queta recorded 13 points (5-12 FG, 0-1 3PT, 3-4 FT) 12 rebounds, three assists
What so special about him or maybe 12 boards are impressive in Summer league game
