I didn't like it. Appreciated that it was out of the cookie cutter mold and Jake is usually pretty good. But definitely something I'd never want to watch again. Got great reviews though, so what do I know?
I don't see myself ever being motivated to watch a flick that stars Jake. I don't think he's bad or anything, but he's not enough to carry a film. Meanwhile, I rewatched Zodiac recently - and it's the characters around him that made it such a good film.
I just saw it. Really really good action movie. The Church scene rivaled The Raid IMO, and that's the highest complement I can give an action movie
People have laughed me in the face when I say check it out! It's a really fun spy movie. It's got all the feel of an old school spy thriller and still is able to laugh at itself and have fun. Fun, fun movie. Worth hanging out at the movies.
John Wick was good...will pick up the Blu when the price drops. Liked the scene when he call for "dinner reservations" for 12. Fury wasn't bad. At least LeBouf wasn't playing a hyper, neurotic character. Saw Gone Girl... Freaky as hell. The ending was meh but at least the cat was unscathed.
Just watched Whiplash. Holy crap that's an amazing movie. JK Simmons has cemented himself to me as one of the most underrated actors in the industry. Great story, great feeling, great movie. You'll leave it either feeling like you don't work hard enough or like working hard isn't worth it. You can really use that movie to delve into how competitive of a person you really are.
I cannot stress Real's recommendation enough. Kingsman is a great ride. Kind of like Kick-a** (same director) meets The Raid with a bit of Bond sprinkled in. Unfortunate that a movie like 50 Shades is going to obscure it.
Another flick I would recommend that I recently saw is Moon with Sam Rockwell. It's a one-man-show type movie that is really good.
Watched Taken 3 and Kill the Messenger last night. Taken was more of the same. If you're a fan of the franchise, you'll like it. Couple more twists and turns than the others. Enjoyed it more than the second one. I really liked Kill the Messenger. Much more in Renner's wheelhouse than Avengers. Good cast and a really captivating whistle blower flick.
Finally saw Kingsman today. What a fun movie that was. The whole movie was enjoyable and those two hours flew by so quick.
yeah I remember seeing this back in the day. Very weird movie, but Sam Rockwell gives a great performance for sure.
Watched St. Vincent the other night. Had a good story and Bill Murray was great in it. If you're a fan of his, check it out.
Back in the day? It's like 6 years old. lol If 2009 is back in the day, what do you consider a movie like Chinatown or French Connection? The Stone Age? haha
Watched the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 last night..... For me, it was the worst one of the 3 and felt more like a filler for Part 2. It didn't have the same feel/excitement as the other previous two.
