Saw Annihilation. While it looked amazing and there were some good imagery and scenes, so many plotholes. Didn't find out until after that it was based on a book trilogy that was pretty good. Might give that a shot.
I wanted to post this in here, because I appreciate this guy a lot. And I'm excited what the future holds for the many projects and movies he will create. What a great guy and inspirations for anyone black or white. Jordan Peele - Best Original Screenplay - "Get Out" - Oscars 2018 - Full Backstage Speech (7:44)
I saw it too. Solid sci-fi movie. Quite a few plot holes, like you said. For some reason (cause the movie was NOTHING like it) if reminded me of Midnight Special. They're completely different movies, but something triggered a flashback to that film.
Saw Death Wish and Red Sparrow. Death Wish was another one of those simple plot, predictable action flicks. Bruce Willis plays a likable character. Never saw the original so don't know how they compare. Whole timing with the recent shootings didn't help the movie. Red Sparrow had some great moments but ran about 20-25 mins too long. Still not a huge fan of JLaw, her accent was all over the place and took me out of some scenes. A lot of tough torture scenes.
Never been a fan of J-Law. One of those actors that just befriended the right people and everyone in Hollywood loves, so we are told to love her and she's forced upon us like your Grandma forces a full meal on you one hour after you ate.
I may have said this before, but I only like her in Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle, and Joy. Everything else I’ve seen her in she’s meh, or awful. So basically if she’s not being directed by David O. Russell she’s somehow not entertaining. Playing opposite Bradley Cooper seems to help too, they have good chemistry.
Wasn’t planning on it. Preview played for it every single time I saw The Last Jedi. By the 5th time I wanted to close my eyes and cover my ears. Also, Oprah, fine human being, can’t see her in a movie without being immediately taken out of it, can’t think of her as an actress.
I saw it because I loved the book when I was younger, absolutely disappointed with the movie. Oprah wasn't even that bad, pretty much the saving grace if she wasn't playing the character she was playing.
It's a huge issue with the movie industry. You have such great source material and the director/producer/writer just decides to change something cause they feel like it. Usually that "something" is huge plot wise or a fan favorite.
Tomb Raider, best video game to movie adaptation we've had as of late. Wish they went with just the story from the 2013 reboot but they combined the story from the next game too. Guess they went with the safer route instead of the more mystical. A few complaints but I enjoyed it. Had my doubts about Vikander but she did a pretty good job. Spoiler: Just to be safe I'm not a fan of why she went to the island and the set up for a potential sequel. She went to the island to find out about her dad. For me Lara Croft is suppose to be an adventurer, an out doors person, a female Indiana Jones/Nathan Drake in some aspects. In this movie she was just a really athletic girl that stumbled upon her dad's research. I also wished they just kept the dad in the flashbacks and spent more time of her surviving out in the wild. More time to develop the plot in the second half of the movie would have helped too. Heck, even better puzzle solving scenes would have been nice. 6.5/10
My Perfect You had me bawling at the end. Sorry, only in the Philippines. Kita Kita was pretty good too
I could be wrong but in the game she's an archeology grad student and the trip was to confirm some theories she had about the island.
