If you're looking for a really good family movie, check out Max. Nothing ground breaking, but good clean fun.

Is that the one with the military dog? It looked really sad like Marley and Me.

Yup. But I didn't think it was sad like Marley and Me.

Okay cool. Must have been the specific trailer I watched. I'll give it a shot.

That was the impression I got. I can't watch movies in which the dogs are main characters and die.

Terminator Genisys - was surprisingly good. I'm going to issue a clarification and keep going with my grading scale.

F - an abysmal failure; not worth watching
D - a bad film; falls short in significant ways
    C - a so-so film; one I didn't hate spending money on
B - a good film; one that I would recommend
A - an excellent film; I'd recommend to everyone, including people who "don't like that stuff."

    Terminator Genisys (C+)
I think this was the best Terminator film since the first one. Great cast. Some surprises. Lots of nods to the original film, which I loved. There were a few scenes that were over the top - even by action film standards, but my wife enjoyed it, too. I thought in particular the two leads were great, and they worked very well together. Matt Smith was intriguing in a smallish but important role. I spotted him immediately on screen, but I'm not sure we were supposed to. I'm a Whovian, so I know.

    Self/Less (C/C-)
Ryan Reynolds made this film work, so far as it did. Ben Kingsley was solid in his role. Aside from that, there wasn't much to drive the action; it was really just a Ryan Reynolds vehicle. Still, he's so charismatic. Despite some interesting science fiction stuff going on, which I loved, it didn't walk the line between sci-fi and action as well as it could've. Seemed like an inferior Phillip K. d*** story. All that said, I didn't mind spending money on it. Wifey liked it, too.

Wait wait wait. You think Genisys is better than Terminator 2: Judgement Day? That's one of my favorite movie sequels of all time.

Everyone loves Terminator 2. IMO, the original was better. yes, the technology was much improved from 1 to 2, but just going off the story and originality, I loved the original. Plus, Arnold was awesome as a villain.

Part of it is that T1 was a little cheesy, and that was okay; T2 was, too, and that wasn't okay given the technology they were pumping into the film. T3 was surprisingly okay in my view. T4 was awful. Completely mindless Philip K. d*** rehash.

I would never argue Terminator 2 as a great movie in itself because the plot and all that were very generic. But T2's villain is so cool and fun that I enjoyed the movie immensely despite the lack of a great plot.

Terminator 1 to me was a little before it's time and missed the mark by just a little bit. It's really a horror movie to me more than a sci-fi movie. An unstoppable killer robot sent back to a time where it's mostly invulnerable? That's pretty terrifying.

I was pretty set on not watching this next Terminator. I got burned by three and four was just unwatchable. By the way, if you watch T3 again it's really more of a comedy. In fact there's a hidden panther growl in one of the big explosions. I was watching it the other day and had to rewind a few times just to make sure I wasn't hearing things.

I watched Terminator Genesis last night. I was entertained. Special effects were amazing. Doubt I'd ever feel the urge to watch it again.

I find it quite amusing when proper names have to be edited to post on forums. :)

Ant Man was solid. Pretty funny. Didn't care much for the bad guy, but Douglas, Lily, and Rudd worked very well together. Any the ants are just cool as hell. Nowhere near Iron Man league but better than any Thor movie. I laughed. I enjoyed it. Lots of cool cameos.

I thought it was worth the price. I thought Pena was mostly very funny. I still felt the Egar Wright moments, it was creative, and wasn't too afraid to make fun of itself. I thought it was Guardians-esque. Like a B version of Guardians with a lot of humor, but not quite as touching as Guardians was.

I feel bad I didn't mention Pena. Great character acting. Agreed on your impression. B-/C+.

Trainwreck was good. No classic funny moments, but unlike a lot of comedies that start out hilarious and are boring the 2nd half, this one was consistent with steady laughs throughout.

John Cena was hilarious!!! LeBron was very unfunny. Amare Stoudemire had a couple funny scenes. I'm a big Amy Schumer fan and think she has a bright future.

Definitely worth seeing, but again, it's not a classic.

Was Lebron as bad as he looks in the commercials, or worse? He's so bad in the commercials I can't comprehend why he's in this. It looks like a funny movie, and then there's Lebron, with trying horrible acting, saying not funny things, completely taking me out of the movie. If he does that in the commercials I imagine it's the same in the actual film.
