We wouldn’t be dumping him for nothing. It would be to free a max slot that the writing on the wall suggests Kawhi might step into.

No chance in hell I let Wagner be the one to get in the way of that after everything we’ve already done to go all in.

there's a risk we dump him for nothing to clear the space if no big FA signs but I'm not hanging up a 3rd max star on a guy that is supposed to be a stretch 5 and shot 28% on 77 3pt attempts and had pretty uninspiring per 36 min stats regardless of his charisma.

His stroke is pure. I think he'll be alright after an off-season of training hard

Apparently he "Liked" a George Zimmerman tweet (the guy who shot Trayvon Martin, the "Hoodie Kid"), and now getting flamed for it.

    He gone. Lebron snap.

All I remember of Moe during the year is red Gatorade. That's it.

The trade can't be completed until the 6th which means we will likely know by that time if we have a max free agent commitment. My guess is we will have the 3-team trade lined up with the understanding it will revert back into a 2-team trade if we can't secure a max free agent. The contracts should be pretty easy to dump though. Wagner has some value and only has one more guaranteed year. You could add in cash to pay for Bonga's deal. Throw in a future 2nd and it won't be hard to get a team to bite.

I could see swapping Moe for a 2nd. Bonga and Jemerrio Jones can get bought out without incurring much right?

Jones yes. Bonga has 2 years left on his deal, albeit at like 3 million total. Wagner could likely be swapped for a second, like you said. Then we include cash considerations in the deal in order to pay for Bonga's contract. As long as the team we trade them to isn't trying to shed every last penny in order to get to a certain cap number, Bonga's deal is harmless.

But ... but .... Bongo. Anyone, even Kuz, but him. To paraphrase abeer as to how much he has improved in one short season, "he looked like he'd never seen a basketball before when he first got here and now he's just terrible."

Magic should get grief just giving Bongo a 3 year deal to begin with.

What was the point of this contract? He gave a 3 year deal to a total project that hadn't played one minute in the NBA. Was he not allowed to make those second two years team options?

I think he saw visions of himself minus the TALENT part. I think it’s fine taking a chance on Bonga but you make it a 2 year contract, with the second year a team option.

We've traditionally given large contracts to aging players on their way out. Kobe, Deng and now Bonga.

Bonga is a year away from being a year away...he won't be NBA ready for at least another couple of years...

He also has a higher than 50% chance to never be NBA ready.

He has solid handles for his size and is a good passer but he is TO prone through the roof and he can't shoot.
