I honestly think Byron is power tripping Julius and D'Angelo. The basic training drill sergeant act. Break them down so HE can mold them and (take credit when they do well [in spite of him] my opinion as well) He sure as hell never takes any blame for what's going on. Beyond f****** maddening and wrong to do these guys this way. Black indeed will be gone next year if he's a free agent after getting totally f***** by Scott.

I'm telling you he's trying to do his best impression of Pat Riley, but it's a bad one and it obviously doesn't have the same results.

Byron is coming across as extremely unqualified in all facets of his job.

Coaching, teaching, development, team building, schemes, offense, defense, media relations....

    Just an absolute train wreck

I miss when our biggest complaints under previous "bad" coaches were just 2 or 3 of those things. Byron is showing us the full arsenal.

    Maybe he needs Riley's hair....

I wish I cared enough to photoshop it on Byron's head, but I don't.

I don't even care enough about Byron to do that, and I like photoshopping stupid stuff. I couldn't even find the willpower to photoshop Reggie into a ferengi, even though he's like 50% the way there already.

Don't we all wish Boron was as rigid as Phil Jackson, that we used to b**** about with his SET but logical and best 8 or at most 9 man rotations and minutes at the start of the season. Same thing every night, whole damn season. Baring injuries and foul trouble mutiple players. The guys all knew what to expect.

This CLOWN is still in pre-season mode with no clue as to "logical" or "best" lineups.

Nothing that I seen. My best guess is that Scott was assured he'll be here through the season and they'll evaluate him at the end of the season. I don't think they make any in season changes at this point. What for unless their is a mutiny? You're 7-27 and there's only 48 games left. Playoffs are out of reach and the best thing you can do the rest of the season is develop the Russell, Randle, Nance, Clarkson, etc.

I think a coaching change is made in the offseason, though. Then, the Lakers will have some good to very good candidates available, and I hope they don't screw this hire up. This next phase of the rebuild is incredibly vital and we need a coach that can develop young talent, instill good habits, have a good grasp of offensive and defensive schemes, be good with the media, and attractive to Free Agents.

No you don't spend to spend, but you do need to spend money to get some quality players on this roster. How else are we supposed to attract superstar free agents? I'll be very disappointed if the strategy doesn't change this year.

Well, fu Mitch. There's no point in keeping b0ron (unless Luke said he's coming after the season). Sure, let's wait till the off season. Let's wait for KD or whoever and see other fa's go in the meantime. Lets sell them on a team with no coach and no sense of direction. Im sure this will work, it's not like we got "rejected" by any good players lately... oh wait!

At least he admitted that he was ok with losing games if it ensures the lottery pick. I thought that was what they were thinking but they were saying the opposite for a while there which was confusing. So he's saying that the coaches and players are instructed to win, but we already know they aren't going to very often. It sounds to me like he very much covets that pick either to try and get Ben Simmons or to land a two or three for potential trade bait. Boron's terrible coaching pretty much ensures that we'll end up with one of the worst records this season.

Ah, well, it's business as usual although I'm upset that Russell and Randle are still riding the pine this much. I think that part of the season is a freaking disgrace. The only positive I'm getting from these games is seeing those guys develop and I'm getting very little of it because of BORON. He absolutely has to go at the end of the year. We need to move in a new direction.

I'm guessing mitch won't let Byron bury the youngsters for too long, given that he basically admitted that their showing is part of what he expects to be an improved pitch in FA next summer.

btw: his quotes here are on my side in the civil debate we're having in some other thread: I don't expect the lakers to just toss out maxes to nic batum types this summer just because they have cash.

And that's why they'll continue to be a joke. If you have an opportunity to get a really solid starting 3 which is a clear hole on this team you do it, but no we'll just try and sign a guy like Durant who we don't have a snow ball's chance in hell at getting and that's why the roster won't be improved significantly.

Then they'll end up with not very good players. Most players who are even in the "Tier Two" range will cost a max contract. Batum, Barnes, and Derozan included. So unless he's going to spend 10 million each on 6 different guys then good luck figuring out what to do with your cap space. Maybe we'll give Hibbert a 20+ million dollar deal for one year to save cap space for 2017!

His quotes about not spending money just to spend money are very annoying. Eventually you need to spend money to at least start to become a playoff team again, or you become the 76ers. Every player you spend on doesn't need to be an All-Star or superstar, you need talent though. We'd look a hell of a lot better with players like Isaiah Thomas and Greg Monroe (and others we ignored or made wait around) right now, instead of sitting around waiting on fantasies like Melo and Aldridge. Or a player whose bags we should have packed for him in Dwight Howard. Get talent now, steadily improve. We drafted well to rebuild in the 90's and stay competetive, but we also signed talent each year too, it's something you must do. At the very least signing that 2nd tier talent gives you very tradeable assets to then go after better players.
