JJ wants to shoot 3 , run small ball and play like C Bags In top tip form he is better than JAX and could shoot 3
Hopefully it works out like that for us. Abeer3 is more familiar with the Mavericks guys, I don't know if he thinks, Maxi has anything left in the tank, or not tho.
i think he has something left, but only in spurts. good news is he's not afraid of big games/moments. bad news is i think his offense relies on chemistry, and he has trouble building it being injured all the time. theoretically, he's an excellent fit for what jj wants to do; i just think maxi is mostly theory/history at this point. all that said, how many playoff series have turned from 15 good minutes from a vet in unexpected fashion?
He's worth a shot... He can't get any worse than Vanderbilt offensively so if he can just give some 10-15 minutes of production, spread the floor, etc., then it is what it is. Lakers gotta find some snipers and another big in the offseason. With all the easy wide open shots they are getting, it's such a huge missed opportunity watching the shots clank.
Post all star game 3pts shooting Lakers ranks in the league Open 3s : Freq % : 2nd ( only Boston is taking more open 3s) team shooting % rank on those : 15th Wide open 3s Freq% : 11th team shooting % rank on those : 18th YIKES
Dalton post all star 3pts shooting % 20 for 45 good for 44.4% on open 3s ( 1st in team) 15 for 36 good for 41.7% on wide open 3s '( 3rd behind Austin and Gabe)
This tells you all you need to know. To win, teams have to make open shots. 2nd most open shots in the NBA but we brick them. No excuses.
As I said before -- Maxi has wide body, good physical strength and he has solid fundamentals that allow him to hit the 3 at the decent clip for a big, or roll to the basket and finish. He is smart enough to know exactly when to shoot, when to roll or pass and when to stay out of the way. Also sets wonderful screens, because the guy is just sturdy & wide. If he was actually healthy, we could really use him as a true small ball center behind Jax. But even as is, he is on the court doing drills and shooting the ball, so if we could get him ready for the last two games of the season -- just 7-8 minutes, mind you -- we may be onto something here.
I'm not a BeKleber sorry. He's going to have to get some run to get conditioned and get a rhythm with this team. Last year he was pretty bleh (Injury related most likely), but it's been awhile since he had any impact. But then again, our results this year are also based upon Hopium. They maybe he's the missing piece haha.
Buha said on his latest pod the latest intel suggests we stand pat. He asked to not be aggregated on that cause it could change before Sunday, but currently he thinks we roll with what we have.
