I don’t care how young he is. He’s playing much better on both sides of the ball than Prince, but because Prince has been around, Ham chooses to go with him.
What happened to “facts over feelings?”

I have to say I don’t get Ham’s obsession with playing Prince so many minutes per game. He has better options with Cam Vando and Rui back not to mention Max who clearly needs more burn. Prince is the least impactful player of all of them. The guy’s getting 30 minutes a game shooting a low percentage, averaging single digits and playing so so defense. He’s not a bad player but nothing to write home about at all. And he’s low guy on the totem pole. He’s on a one year MLE contract when we’ve invested years and millions into contracts for Rui and Vando. And we locked in Max too so develop him! Prince is more than likely gone next year.

I think I agree with this. He has his usefulness but I see more upside in the other guys. Not a knock on Prince, but Rui, Vando and Max are who I would choose to run with.

Yeah, I was one who when we saw it, thought Prince made sense as a set-it-and-forget-it starter but as the team revealed itself and players showed us what they could and could not do...and injuries, that changed. Cam being a top 2 perimeter defender on the roster changes a lot.

I think Prince is and can be an important piece on a contender. On this roster, I think he should cap at 18 minutes a night. I also think in lineups where he's on your second or third best perimeter guy, he'll do better than getting the marquee matchup. I was upset he closed against the Suns because I don't think he did particularly well, especially in relation to his other wings. My hope was that Vando was on minute restriction and Ham was being cautious with Cam and Rui as they were still working their way back from their injuries.

And while I think he has a role, if we make any trade, he's the first wing I'm shipping out.

Did Prince know Ham before becoming a Laker ?

He's not represented by Klutch so his PT is not linked to Lebron wishes ..

Ham and Jent were both assistants on the Hawks during Prince's time there.

Seemed like Ham listening to this sort of take.
With speedier and lot of switching go with Max over Prince and Reaves. Looked like Prince is better with more 1v1 teams where he doesn't have to navigate off ball stuff.

If Ham is able to effectively use these guys based on matchups, Lakers trade needs and what team think they can get are going to trend into the Danny Ainge we're only doing this if it's clear win for us territory

Man out of all the bad performances - Max was the worst. Man what was that when you get a chance to start

Max isn't quite ready yet. He shows some flashes at times, but it's going to be tough to get some consistent minutes. Playing spot duty here and there isn't going to prepare you to start and be effective IMO. I thought that we had cleared the deck for Max, to give him an opportunity to crack the rotation this season. Cam Reddish just took his spot, that's getting straight to the heart of the matter . Once Vincent gets back, Max might not play much for awhile, unless an injury occurs. He just has to keep working and be ready when the opportunity comes around again. It's a long season.

To be fair though, when Cam was out and Max started some games a bit ago he did quite well. This was his worst outing though for sure. He's a kid, I'll give him plenty of rope here.

I’d like to see more of his aggressive mid range game if the 3s are clanking. He’s quick and has great elevation to get good close shots off.

i really think that three of his is going to be 40+% at some point. question is whether he's still here when it gets there.

Don’t sweat it Max …. not one comment on AR either until me like 5 hours later. Beautiful game in short minutes Buddy! Two nice threes and a Rui-esque Kawhi lite mid range J …. plus a beautifully timed block out of nowhere on Scary Terry way up high. Forgive me and will wash my mouth with soap for having typed earlier today I would cavalierly have tossed you in with JHS like it wouldn’t be “another” of one of our “kids” we will have to watch just BLOW UP in future years starting next year once free of THE PIMPLE … on some “other” team after we trade you for Murray IF he is ALL that. You’re going to be too. PLAGGHHK!!! … that tastes like s***!!

I'm going to be ticked if Rob trades either AR or Max away in a desperate move at LeBron's insistence. Those two should be our foundation pieces for 5 years from now. Both will be shooting around 45% from three by then.

Nice to see him MAXimize the opportunity and minutes in this scrimmage. Blocks and the boards were very helpful.

He's not going to get this kind of PT regularly but maybe not play TP 40 minutes and you can get Max 10-12 minutes at least (two 5-6 minute shifts)

yeah, just sprinkling some regular burn could pay dividends, particularly if one of our more experienced wings goes down.
