That had to help his frustration a lot to finally get minutes and decent minutes in such a big morale boosting win for the team, considering the players we were missing and how well Snake and Paula played.
Yeah, not ready yet. Good job on the glass. Some effort. I like the occasional defensive energy of Cam + Christie lineups. But he's not ready for the role we thought he was going to walk into this year.
He is going to. A guy can't just ride the bench and ride the bench and then be expected to save the day. That is not realistic. Given minutes over the next few months he will improve drastically. He won't improve without playing. No one does.
Unfortunately the confidence and play we saw in Summer League has not translated to the Big Leagues. I have confidence he'll get there, but he needs a steady role in the rotation. Limited minutes to build confidence and get repetition against this level of competition. I don't think Ham is the guy to make that happen. I don't see him developing guys for squat.
his shot still looks good to me. that will get there. but the conundrum is that it's hard to play him when he's just another guy teams can leave open. he obviously knows this based on his interview, so he's probably pressing a bit. he'll sit once gabe gets back and then maybe the next opportunity he gets, he'll capitalize.
Max definitely made some nice plays out there last night. His shot looks solid and his defensive instincts have always been good. Going to be hard to get minutes out there though with Cam playing so well. Ah well, good problem to have!
It is a great problem to have and even a few minutes keeps Max ready if we need him. The team played well and maybe a little obscured by that was Ham had a good game also. There is no garbage time for a coach, use every second to help bench players get better and gain confidence. Due to injuries or suspensions, there is always at least one time during a championship run you need someone unexpected to step up. Nice to see coach thinking big picture.
i think max got some chances, and cam made better on his. i'm not down on max at all, and i still think he's going to be a good nba player for a decade. he just might have to wait a little longer.
Agreed, there is more than one way to dress a moose. From the back down or stomach up doesn't really matter. Keep the hair off the meat and don't rupture the intestines your good. Like both players a lot.
Max is fine. He's just not there yet to be ahead the pecking order of established NBA players. He'll get there, he's young and has time to grow. He'll learn a lot this year just by hanging out with so many good players, learn their habits and take the time to work on his game with Handy. He needs to become a defensive pest to achieve his ceiling
