Check out the perfect straight up and down form and great elevation, DLO up off the bench and LeBron injecting his vein for Max's shot which he buried, with his back turned.
i finally finished the sac game, and i thought max looked good there, tbh. had a couple shots rattle out and a couple calls that could have gone another way, but he looks quick, fast, polished. when he shoots i think it's going in. when he handles i don't think it's getting taken, and on defense he's with his guy and in the right spots to help.
Max had some poor TOs and shooting decisions. Sort of rookie mistakes: Bucks throw a lot of wily bet defenders so he going to have to adjust.
i've noticed they're having him run the point some, which isn't something i expected. i don't think he's ready for that, but it's interesting that they're looking at it.
I think they like the versatility and switchability of this team on both sides. It'd be more natural for him to slot up to SF but we're too deep there for him to get run, so they're seeing if he can slot down to eat any minutes.
But we are nearly as deep at the 1 as we are at 3. Gave, DAR and AR should all be ahead of him there. I think it's just Pimple, doing Pimple things.
We have much more current and future money tied up into the SF spot. Bron + Rui + Vando + TP is $72m and change on the books this year. If you give AR and Cam any of those minutes, that's an additional $14m.
He is but with the number of players we are trying to give minutes to and with how this roster is constructed, I'd say nearly everyone can and will play multiple positions. 1) because they actually are multi-positioned threats. 2) we're a legit 12 deep and there's only 240 minutes to dole out, when we're healthy that's tricky. I'd say the only one who is closest to being a one position player is Hayes. Everyone else can play at least 2 spots. The more positions you can play, easier time you'll find your way to the court.
He did hog the ball at times. He's really Kobe ahah I think it's normal because he's putting the work, wants to showcase and feels good about himself. He can definitely carve a role in the rotation as our 10th guy right now. He should be the 4th/5th (if shares the court with Vando/Hayes) offensive weapon when on the court, which is great. He just needs to defend well and will have a few shots every night. One of his best attributes was rebounding but I didn't noticed it this preseason (didn't check the stats, maybe I missed it). Hope he doesn't lose that, it's a nice thing. Our team is bigger this year too which can affect that, but it's always a good extra. Especially when Rui is not a rebounder
i think, as cranjis said, it was the lineups he was in that made him have to take some bad shots. i feel like i saw him being active on the glass as usual, too. he's going to be fine. this year, he'll get some rotation minutes, and then next year he'll have sharpened up further and will take the leap.
Ham may be the worst judge of talent, lineups and rotations of any coach I have ever seen. I say may, bc it is possible I have overlooked someone but dang he is bad. Rob almost foolproofed the roster but Ham is finding a way. Free Max!! This is inexcusable.
It does change his development curve if he remains on the pine. He looked good in preseason, but I guess that doesn’t matter to Hamster.
