I did. And no, he wasn't ready. Troy and Beasley already disappeared in the PO, there was no space for him. I don't get this forcing him into the lineup. He has time. Next year he will have a full summer under his belt, knows the role he can do in the team, a full training camp and he can carve some minutes in the rotation. Regardless, him playing or not this year postseason is irrelevant because we would still have lost
Your missing the point. If he had played through the season he would have been ready for the playoffs. Then when dlo disappeared and Vando couldn't be used we would have someone that could play defense and hit open shots enough to not be left alone. A simple adjustment like that can turn games that are close. Look at the season in its entirety. Sometimes you have to get out of the box. You have to be thinking playoffs from the start of the season not just when the they start. Use the season to get ready.
Man, we were 13th in February!! Have you followed the regular season? That makes no sense considering how our season was lol
Couldn't disagree more on that... every season that has AD and Bron on the team HAVE to start with thinking about playoffs. So.. for example, letting AR start from the get go would have probably netted us some more wins, letting Max play more would probably allow us to just bench TB and Missly altogether. See Ronny, for example, who got to play A LOT in the beginning of the season -- I think it paid off, eventually.
Knew he would with that frame plus at his young age during the actual season when it’s typically hard for many players to do you could see he was adding some muscle even then as well.
Summer league will be very telling. I do love our ROI pick wise historically, so I'm naturally optimistic.
He is nowhere near ready to be shot creator either primary or secondary but he definitely seems ready to play with a guy like Reaves next to him. Play off the ball as a finisher either at the basket or shooting Not sure how his defense was based on what I saw
I think he is now ready to step up and be a backup to Reaves. He’s physically strong, and could excel as a 3 & D player. Doesn’t even need to do much more.
Yeah he'll crack the rotation this upcoming season. I said before, he would have had a similar development to Reaves if we weren't fighting for the playoffs in the second half of the season.
I think that's the expectation but he will have to prove it during off-season and the first few games If you do a 3-man rotation (which will happen at times because Dlo plays the 2) between Vincent, Reaves and Dlo, straight up it's 32min each. So he may hit 3-5 minutes of each to play his 12-15 Big opportunity will be when Dlo misses the occasional game and Max needs to step up. It would be great if he can be that guy and play well
He’s night and day from last summer league, shot is flying with confidence, more arc on it than I remember, that’s what a season of work like he put in can do
Didn't realize.he was Illinois Mr Basketball.and 5 star recruit out of high school. You can see the talent with his lift that has an extra half second or so to do something I the air that most guys in the summer league just don't have the athletically ability to do Maybe the best thing for him to under achieve in college. His agent and the Lakers really seem to have stressed what he should work on. Get the shot down, swing the ball, play defense, and attack when the opportunity is there. Really liking what I'm seeing him from. Just looks at another level athletically and skill wise then the rest of the summer league players and it's skills that will translate into the NBA role that matches what the Lakers are grooming him for
If DLo walks after his player option, I have a feeling by this time next year we’ll be perfectly okay (and might even prefer) going into 2024-2025 with Reaves as our starting PG and Christie as our starting SG.
