scouting department did it again. sort of unbelievable at this point. we haven't had a first rounder in a while but keep getting them anyway.
This the only part of our organization i have faith in. Every other aspect of our team (including medical staff) is amateur hour.
No big deal, 19 year old rookies typically don’t play as well on the road, especially role players taken in the 2nd round. He’s also the type that probably plays better next to the stars, complementary role player, he’ll bounce back.
This is a game that needed some creators which were all.missing. Christie is definitely not a creator and this was the worst kind of game from him. He does pair nicely with Reaves: he's got a bit more lateral quickness on D and hes a straight line 3 or attack the rim guy on offense. Reaves has the moves and moxie on offense so Christie should be able to play off of him
christie actually looked pretty good as a pick and roll ballhandler in the summer, so i wouldn't say he doesn't have room to grow offensively.
These guys trying to put ceilings on someone that young and athletic is ridicules. I know they need something to do but that doesn't make any sense...lol.
yeah, that play was less about the physical and more about the mental, imo. he's never defended chris paul before and has limited experience against high-level nba ballhandlers, period. he's going to look silly sometimes.
He should get a lot of burn tonight..let's see how he does. He was killing em in the G league before getting called back up.
Good listen about Christie Trudell with a couple significant things: 1) Max has put on 11 pounds of muscle 2) he's changed how he is shooting the 3 (mentioned this during the game). Before it was a palm release, now it's a finger tip release. That explains the more accurate and quicker release on the 3 ball.
Jesse Buss: He's the one Buss that sounds like he's going to be fine regardless of what happens with the Lakers. If the Lakers ever are sold, if I was an opposing GM I would go after him immediately to run the draft and scouting departments at the least.
Still think, and why not since they apprenticed together, that Jesse and Ryan West learned from the best in Jerry West .... the A - Zs of how you scout College talent, and NBA talent in general.
