There's tons of shooters across league history who shoot crap for weeks or an entire series and then go berserk for 5, 6, 7 triples in a game. He just needs to keep shooting, we definitely need someone like him, this year and the next one. This guy had multiple hot streaks this year: 6 straight games going for 4,5,4,5,4,6 triples 9 straight games going for 4,6,4,4,3,7,6,2,8 He made +5 triples in 14 games. He had even more with 4. Avg 3 made threes a game since 2020. Only DLo has a better average than him. He made 7 threes in his first game against the Warriors right after the break. He's not Curry, he will have shooting slumps. But can definitely play a role and it's smart to give him little runs in every game and see if he can get hot. If he can't, play another guy. If he does, he's a difference maker. We will play against the team with the 2 greatest shooters of the game, we will need threes during the series
we aint got time to coddle beasley anymore if he couldn't even get right in that garbage time in gm 6, why even bother? whatever we get from beasley now he gives up twice as much on other end, poole will wreck beasley
I can still see him going off in a game or two in this series. The leash will be short, I agree, but Poole can't guard anybody either, his shot making keeps him in the mix. Malik is very capable of giving us a nice 4-5 min burst, gotta stay ready.
I know he went cold really cold but I also believe Ham never really setup plays for him I remember a game that he came in hit two 3s and then we sat him for a long time and he got cold I would give him a full camp with the team, hopefully plan some schemes for him
Feels like at the very least, we should pick up his $16 million option to keep him as trade bait. Do I think he's a $16 million/year player? No chance given how he played. He would make Westbrick proud with how many houses he built. Perhaps he can become like KCP, but probably likely he gets packaged for something next season.
I think we’re going to choose between Beasley and Bamba, bringing back both starts to cause significant tax issues. I’d personally want to bring back Bamba and let Lonnie and Christie take the backup 2 guard minutes behind Austin.
Malik might be dealt on draft night, but I'd rather have some more young talent added to them team, if the right players are available at 17 and 47. It's tricky trying to keep him. Is he really any better than Lonnie? He and D'Angelo are similar, in that if they aren't scoring, both are pretty expensive non factors. Malik's shooting has been trending down for the last 4 or 5 seasons, I'm not sure what a full training camp is going to do in order to fix that.
A full training camp will allow him and the team to understand how to maximize him. He's one of the best shooters in the NBA and we run 0 plays for him when he played. Lonnie has more potential, but Beasley is a biggest threat from 3. Lonnie also seems to want a bigger role than he can have with us, while Beasley makes it simple as he goes in with the sole mission of knocking 3s. He's a better defender and rebounder too. I think Beasley can avg 15ppg and 4 threes a game in 20mpg
He's never avg 4 threes in his entire career. He had a couple of good seasons in Minnesota though, but it seems like his shot falls off markedly in the playoffs. Defense? He doesn't play any, which is another reason he was benched. 16 million per? No tks
