Beas will be very key in the playoffs but he has to drive the ball more like he has last few games. If he drives the ball and does a little playmaking, it'll really open up his game. And those drives are going to be there because they closeout so hard on him. Nobody on our team offers that level of gravity and Beas has to read the defense more and also cut to the basket when they're overplaying him like that.
Good on Ham for shortening the leash more. 10 min, 0-2 3pt FGs. If it's not there, he's not playable in a playoff game. Game 3, at home, with the crowd going full tilt, I think he could have some value then.
He just looks out of his league when it gets real against good teams. Appreciate that he hustled though
The only guy I'm currently unhappy with. The guy just cannot put together a consistent shooting performance....bricks plenty, then has one of those games where he hits 6 of 9 to get the average percentages right. Currently he is pretty worthless. He is a shooter than can't shoot (and doesn't bring much else to the table). At this price tag, I think he is certainly gone after the season, unless he goes on a historic shooting run and we win it all.
yeah, he'll have to play a lot better to get his contract guaranteed next year, and i'm not seeing it as super likely right now. i hope i'm wrong and he kills it, though, because if he does, we'll win some blowouts.
give his minutes to Walker, Walker can do more than chuck up 3's, both are medicore defenders at best but Beasley offense sucks....we dont need to play Beasley because of his contract, clippers have completed benched Morris and Mia with Duncan Robinson. I dont know what Covington next contract will look like but I wouldn't mind giving him ble or vet min prove it deal as hes completely out of the rotation with the clips
He seems to have the same problem Matt Ryan did. Misses his first shot and starts pressing. Each one going up quicker. When your playing time is based on hitting threes it is a lot of pressure. The main reason I don't like depending on specialists. Give me an Austin Reaves everytime.
I think too because they know that's why they're in there .... maybe not as much (hopefully, but still) with a vet like Beasley .... they launch too soon on possibly not great looks rather than let the game come to them. Beasley's shown though he's willing to cut and drive to the rim and shoot other types of shots as well. But totally agree, and Austin just blowing UP as a starter ever since, that for all he offers with his all around good game skills, he needed to be in there at the start of games and the 2nd half, as well of course in clutch closing minutes. Way more important than getting Malik going, who is always going to be streaky judging from his career.
Lebron found him wide open several times and he made just one of them. He's got to hit those shots Otherwise he's unplayable. One of the big reasons Lebron plus minus was bad
key you say? this gravity stuff needs to stop, teams arent guarding the lakers any differently when hes on the floor but grizz players eyes light up when they see beasley on defense
I thought Beas was fine in very limited minutes. He was 2-4 overall but not much of an overall impact. Still hardly a scapegoat when guys like AD went 4 for 14 and Dlo 2-12. He did what he’s supposed to do. That said I would like to see what Lonnie can do against Memphis. He’s a much more versatile scorer and can get red hot as well. I think his energy is a little higher too which would have been good last game. Honestly though if Dlo sucks put Lonnie in with the starters. Lebron and AR can find him and AD can pass to him out of the doubles. He’s not much worse than Dlo on D.
i don't think so. but i'm also not sure we can give him any of troy's minutes in the hopes that it helps him get into the game. brown's just been better overall, i think.
