If we can't get a max level FA to sign and have to wait for AD it sure wouldn't suck to bring Julius back as a "lower tiered" guy. He gets better every year. Then AD next summer. That's if Julius wanted any part of us which he probably doesn't having seen Magic's act up close and LeBron's from afar this season. But with lots of teams having cap space someone else will offer him a nice contract with the way he has been playing. Would be fun to have him back as a Zion lite and watch those battles in the future. Still another couple years till he gets to his prime.

Randle > Kuzma at small ball center.
It was annoying and hard to watch Kuz constantly be thrown out there at the 5.

About as annoying as seeing Hart guarding 4s.

Didn’t Magic say that if he can’t land another superstar this summer (or be “back back”), he will step down?

I’m speaking too soon but if that possibility happens, the Lakers should really look in house at their own bright spot as a successor. I’m talking about Jesse Buss, the man behind the scouting departments success as President of Basketball Operations. Ryan West as General Manager. Boom.

I really wonder how these guys feel about Magic/Rob letting the diamonds they found either walk away for nothing or traded away for crap. I’m talking about Randle, Zubac, and to a extent... D’Angelo but I can understand that as a necessary move to get rid of Mozgov to have the cap space to get LeBron.

To compound that last paragraph, I think they wanted Mitchell Robinson but Magic over ruled them and took Moe instead. And Bonga has always looked like a Magic project to me.

I DONT think its to soon at all, NOBODY asked him to do that he made it a point of emphasis because he's that full of himself. So if he can't deliver, be a man about it and keep your word.....for me its not even that promise but the failures of Maginka this season are not forgivable based on what's been sacrificed so far.....we let to many talents get away for basically nothing and now there's possibilities we may have a few disgruntled young guys too thanks to this FO of incompetence in regards to how they handled the AD trade fiasco.

I can’t see a scenario where he gives up this quick.

Nor can I. He will wait until as least after 2020 because he knows that if he signs Lebron in 2018 and Anthony Davis in 2020, nothing else he did will matter. That will be all anyone will remember.

really, so another year of BS 1yr signings, and thats gona be acceptable to Jeanie? I hope she's smarter than that....otherwise this is UTTER BS, its as just like ALL the criticism we've had of "new plan=old plan" just a bunch of constant LOSING

She picked Magic over her brother who her dad had chose to run the franchise. I mean, seriously. Everyone really needs to think about that.

And I get it. I'm not going to defend the dumpster fire this year has been. Mistakes were made on all levels.

But Magic walks out when he's ready to walk out. I can't see him leaving for at least another couple of seasons. That's just the truth.

Exactly. If he brings in Davis or someone of that caliber then a lot of this goes away really quickly.

I’m trying to remain optimistic, but we have a mess right now. Everything that could’ve went wrong this season did go wrong. Realistically, none of the A list free agents (Kawhi, Kevin, Klay) are coming. Do we offer max money to guys like Kemba, Middleton or Cousins? Do we revisit trading our young talent again for AD? Magic has some work to do.

Lebron could have had a career ending injury. But maybe that would have been better. Insurance would cover it, salary cap relief, etc.

I keep forgetting about Paul George. He was either a terrible miscalculation or he screwed us big time after leading us on. Hell, maybe he got informed by his buddy B Shaw that he shouldn’t join this mess
