Great interview. Boy I tell you the way it appears LBJ has come to the Lakers with the mindset he has to play with the young guys and the talent we have in place, before even adding the good vets like Rondo and McGee with their own championship experience .... is just perfect. I love it. I think from what Magic says and what Ding said in his new article today that LeBron is going to be a better and more enjoyable experience for all these guys to go to war with against the best teams in the league .... than if they were playing with still prime early 30s pre injury Kobe. Heresy? I guess so. But am talking about the "experience" and the enjoyment solely. Kobe was an in your face MFer on the court and in practices from reports over all those years. This is going to have a whole different vibe with that same passion and goal for winning a championship, also with that elite Basketball mind LeBron has, that Ding said really only Magic and Kobe could sit down with LBJ and they're all on the same plane. So excited to see how this team comes together going forward.
How can you not love Magic? You can’t tell me LeBron comes here if Jim Buss goes over to LeBron’s house for a meeting at 9:01. You can’t tell me that because Jim Buss doesn’t get that meeting. Very interesting to hear Magic say LeBron broke down every one of our players to him, I buy it completely, because he doesn’t sign here if he doesn’t like what our core has to offer. It’s no guarantee they can all be shipped off for better players if he comes in and doesn’t want to play with them, but all signs pointed to him being very intrigued with our players last season. Just a fun interview all around though, so glad for Magic and our FO, they have turned this thing around in less than a year and a half.
It's awesome having Jeanie, a women, be the person in charge of one of the biggest sports franchise in history. What a time that will be when win the Larry O'brien Trophy at some point and to see her being the one to raise it!
It's going to be quite emotional for her and us fans. I'm sure she'll dedicate it to her father since the franchise has been in the toilet since he passed.
He's not wrong about the need to upgrade, my goodness....It's 2018 Magic. Was this filmed through a water bottle
lol, no I just meant it's nice that a women whether its Jeanie or not is head of a major franchise. It's less rare today but in the sports realm it definitely is. I'm proud that we have a women as the main person in charge. Its special, unique.
The Balls on this guy...trollin' el jefe like that Haha In Magic's defense, dude is on a yacht somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea, so maybe uploading the vid to the internet was dicey. Either way here's the other notables wishing the Magic man bday wishes.
This is just awesome. Thanks for sharing! The last post about Jackie Chan is great contrast to Magic. Magic and Kobe are two guys I would love to meet.
First step in getting rid of her brother was a gangster move. Then getting Pelinka to go from owner of a million dollar business to being an employee was the 2nd step. 3rd is getting Lebron. Magic is Magic. We know who he is. But those 3 beyond him are Dr Jerry Buss moves.
I've always felt like the apple didn't fall far from the tree with Jeannie and her dad. Her older brothers Jim and Johnny are a different story. Those two . . . not so much. Knuckleheads both. Jeannie was always the true heir to Dr. Buss - she got the smarts, the charisma and the business savvy. Not to mention she inherited his true love of the Lakers. She is bringing us back to the success we have been accustomed to as Lakers fans.
Just glad we have a competent front office now. The ship is stable and should be so for years to come with this set up.
