Johnny ran the Sparks team in the late 90's and early 2000's that won two championships. He got out of the basketball business because it was too stressful for him. He now does freelance photography. What a mess. Jeanie pulled that crap with Ding and now this.
What's great about this is we already know what side is going to come out ahead in this because Jim Buss always loses in everything he tries. I would love to go to Vegas and play 21 at his table so I would know how to not bet. Per Adam Streisand: "They don’t have a legal leg to stand on. This is a legal strategy doomed for failure."
So we had the Purple and Gold Wedding last week and now this..... can't think of another GoT reference for this new news.
Hey remember when I was saying "we're not as bad as NY, Sacramento, and Philly!"? Forget I said anything.
In happier news, Isaiah Thomas is confident that Magic Johnson will attract a FA. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...los-angeles-lakers-smart-hiring-magic-johnson
I'm glad this doesn't seem to be going anywhere and Jim can't win anything from what I am reading from these tweets
Sure seems that way, but this crap will continue regardless. We should have known Jim Buss wouldn't give up without a fight. Funnily enough, if Joey Buss is the alternate governor, then we're still going to head in roughly the same direction without Jeanie then.
Jim and John's entire battle plan appears to be undercut per the owner/director clause in the trust agreement. Bad representation on their lawyer's part to have even attempted it because this is an ownership PR disaster for the brand. Not something the Lakers need and I wonder if Jeanie might not actually have some recourse here to counter in an offensive way. The potential financial harm here is a very real thing as ownership discord like this can scare off players, agents, endorsers, not to mention cause great concern among the other 33% ownership. I say John and Jim get ousted from the trust entirely and as severance, permanently get the churro concession at Staples.
Another reason not to worry about this is because I am sure most if not all the other owners respect and love what Jeanie has done since her father's passing.
Well at least now we know why Jeanie made all her moves now instead of waiting until the end of the season.
