Yeah, I think they meant the Williams deal - and the deal got done on Tuesday. Ireland said Pelinka is a 'shark.' Total opposite of Mitch. LOL. This will get interesting.
I'm pretty sure that's what the tweet is implying. Magic reached out to the teams most interested in Lou and gave them the opportunity to make their pitch and then went with the best one. I've also seen conflicting reports that Magic made the decision all by himself and that he was surrounded by Luke, Jesse, Ryan, Joey, and Mtich's right hand Glenn Carraro. Ding says he had help, but other sources are saying it was all Magic. I'm leaning towards Ding. The Mouthpiece suddenly is much more valuable.
Who do you trust more? Ding who is Jeanie's Mouthpiece and thus hyper connected now or someone like Stein who is a national reporter?
I disagree. Well I agree that Ding could spread misinformation to make people feel better, but I tend to disbelieve anyone in national media who talks about the Lakers internally. The Lakers have always done an excellent job of keeping the door closed to national media people. The only one who tends to know anything is Woj and I'm 99% sure he has a connection to the NBA league trade office which is how he breaks all transactions before the NBA releases the statement.
In Lord of the Flies fashion, a group of young males tends to form a group identity based on their alpha. You'd figure Kobe was a great alpha to fall in line with last year but he was rarely around to practice with. I was hoping Luke would be that alpha, but a coach isn't a peer. Their alpha has been...think about it, it makes perfect sense...Swaggy-P. Not saying it's all his fault, just that young men who aren't alphas from the start like Kobe can be rudderless when the team alpha is a clown.
Ding knew we were drafting Russell when most everyone thought we were going with Okafor. Dude is legit and well-sourced.
Completely agree with this. You can't let your best player on the floor/veteran example be Swaggy P Admittedly he's fun and entertaining, but he's not a die hard winner. He won't push this crew to new heights.
There's going to be a big vacuum to fill for scoring if he's gone too with Lou. A lot of guys have to start hitting shots consistently going forward next year, like these guys were. Both super impressive this year on offense. It was fun.
LeBatard needs to get fired. The man is useless. As for Spears the article was about as forced as it could get. There's no controversy there, it's just... nothing.
