kind of pathetic Not sure what led up to that challenge, but at some point, you have to roll your eyes at old men who can't let go of their youth
i don't think magic was wrong here. in december, i still thought there may be a chance for this team to get it together, too. i'm guessing he'd say something different now.
Magic to Jeannie "trade everybody thats has bodyfat % higher than 5%....look at me im in amazing shape, you know round is a shape right?....also lets talk ownership stakes, i aint doing all this for free, im a bitness man"
Magic was wrong when he optimistically thought that they could get it together when they have Westbrick on the team
Did anyone from ESPN ever ask Magic why he traded Zubac essentially for nothing? Sorry(not sorry) Mike Muscala.
These old time greats are put on such a pedestal, it's very hard to live up to. Yes, we know you were great at basketball, but having this persona of having no nonesense for others, they are sounding more like Stephen A Smith then a former athlete who went through the pressure that the game provided. Though, today's pressure is heightened with social media etc.
I guess Magic still has an axe to grind with Pelinka and also apparently doesn't know how the cap works: https://www.silverscreenandroll.com...ussell-westbrook-alex-caruso-rob-pelinka-espn
Magic doesn't care about insignificant details such as the salary cap. You pay lawyers to get around that stuff. What's important is to kiss some player a** via tweet. You can always give players a piece of the team or partial ownership in some apartment buildings in Korea Town.
that's a good piece and primer for the second-guessers. lots of mistakes were made, but we were also in a tough spot, particularly with respect to getting derozan. he was never taking a huge cut, the spurs were never going to make it easy, and we wouldn't have had much else on the roster. with AD and lebron's injuries, we're still a sub-.500 team in that scenario. similarly inflexible in terms of trades, too. the new rules on incoming S&Ts are tough to skirt.
Magic Johnson wanted to hit Howard Stern after shock jock said, 'at least you had fun getting AIDS. Part of his new documentary.
With all due respect to the greatest player ever, Magic has waived the right to talk about NBA front offices in general, and the Lakers in particular.
