LOL there goes @vasashi17 's whole 3 month Magic being "magnanimous" defense of him stepping aside to give Jeanie time to bring in "real" front office people before FA.

Magic: "I QUIT! I'm not having fun anymore."

Also Magic: "If I was there, we'd be REALLY having fun."

So you seen Magic's twitter feed and how many people that dude knows, right?

If he's still at the prez position and giving autonomy to choose his executive branch and coaching tree...you think he doesn't go cast a net to find the best candidates out there?

Magic as a pres/ambassador is fine by me as long as there are some qualified folks brushing shoulders with him up there.

He was forced to work with Rob, Kurt and Luke. I didn't like that he quit, but I would have liked to at least see who he would try to court to join him up in the FO.

And if he and those folks he chose gave me what happened this summer, I'd put them on blast as well. Don't get it twisted...and I'm talking about that knife you got too. Put it down bro...I'm not the enemy.

That's all well and good for a pro Magic take and makes sense.

Why should anyone give you the courtesy of acknowledging it however, especially considering the absolutely s****y way he did the organization when he left and then doubled down with the national TV proclamation of their GM being a "back stabber" .... when you yourself NEVER extend the same courtesy to ANYONE else here regardless of the logic in their takes if they differ from yours? It's beyond tiring and annoying.

Yeah..sorry Magic, amazing player, great human mascot, mostly beloved dude, bad basketball executive/coach/talent evaluator. He takes the L on this one.

Please tell me where I don’t extend the same courtesy? I’ve repeatedly said I like our roster to make it to the playoffs, but I have serious doubts in it getting us into June. We either have to hope for our health or hope for our opponents lack it themselves. Still too much hope to rely on imo.

I criticized Magic for the way he handled BLo, TB and Zu, but plenty of folks were already voicing their concerns so you may not have noticed it. I even questioned the handling of Jules as a trade asset and was only disagreeing with folks that felt we wronged him when we in fact granted him free agency a year earlier when we didn’t have to.

Here’s the logic: AD requested a trade and Nawlins got up in their feelings. Is that on Magic or Rich Paul?

Here’s the logic: Magic was known as some serial tamperer but he had a 50k fine yo his name while his contemporary was hit with a 500k fine. And personally I don’t frown on the tampering at all.

Here’s the logic: if Magic isn’t day to day, our cap/CBA moves and minutiae of coaching was handled primarily by another. Was everybody on board with those moves? Yet it all falls on Magic, right

Here’s the logic: no search to find Rob a running mate, there was confusion in our coaching search, there was confusion on whether the 4th pick will count as salary or not or if AD exercises his kicker or not. That same confusion was present in the construction of the meme team squad, but 1yr deals did limit us so it partially made sense.

So my logic is that folks have not been happy with our FO but when Magic stepped down, now the obvious roster errors are just fine. Why is that? There’s a common link to all the wtf moments out FO took us through.

Again my logic is if Magic was still here and we went through am the last 2 years of cap horsing and cutting assets for Green/Kcp as the contingency, Magic wound have been in my s*** list too haha.

I never advocated Magic as the guy to make all the decisions. I hoped he would bring folks that would help him navigate the CBA, analytics, the media staff and coaching.

It’s tiring and annoying that discussion turns into an attack on my intention: #17

I appreciate Magic for his title contributions, Rob (by Kobe proxy) for his title contributions as well as Kurt for his. But it’s only logical we hold the FO accountable till a title is achieved. Plenty folks were critical last season but I kept stating that we can’t judge their vision till we see it this summer. I agree that we have to see how this unit looks as they approach May for a final verdict, but it’s time for judgement towards this roster on paper and you already know how I judged it haha.

IF Magic was still here, we'd have a team full of Lance and Beasleys, a bunch of knuckle head's but you know "tough minded, play makers"

Magic is like Trump. He's not necessarily wrong but he has a way of pointing it out that is just TOO HUUUUGGGE and self flagellating.

If he waited some time to state it later and said it with a humble manner, it might work, but clearly the way he comes across is not a good public persona.

I'm as big a fan of Magic as anyone around here but at this point I find myself just wishing he would keep quite so we can continue to enjoy what he actually did accomplish as a player without the need to hate on him.

Dude is the greatest Lakers player who has ever been. He is ruining our collective ability to appreciate that.

Q: Have you spoken to LeBron since you left?
Magic: No, I had a birthday going on.

I don't care if they talked or not but this just sounded weak lol.

I don't hate him, but this is what Magic does. It's unfortunate. "If life hands you lemons, I say **** the lemons and bail."

So let’s stick to that coaching...what did the current FO do with our coaching this summer? I believe in checks and balances, but that s*** is cray.

Magic it wasn’t a knife, it was an arrow.

Too many chiefs and not enough indians.

According to you they screwed up. According to many of us they moved on from a guy who never won a game over 3 years in 18 tries without James on the floor, whom they weren't willing to pay for 5 years. From you AGAIN. From us AGAIN.

Him being their first choice maybe had more to do with thinking (or knowing) he was LeBron's first choice due to their history, and then decided to go a different direction anyway because of Lue's demands and their impressions after the interviews? Is that so hard to allow as a possibility?

I can't believe anyone is arguing about Lue. Lue is not a great coach. PERIOD!!

Lue has done very little to earn any high ranking evaluation from any Lakers fans on earth. I am actually excited to see what Vogel can accomplish here. That defense from the last game was intriguing. I think we might actually be on to something really good here.

Magic goes on TV and runs his mouth again so of course a chance to take another shot at the Lakers FO. So transparent by now. But no it’s not about Magic. LOL.
