i think he was coming here if the clips couldn't swing george or another all-nba level player (word was they tried to get harden before george). but we were the clear back-up option. just like his new franchise is in la.

i mean, butler, kd, and irving weren't coming, and beal wasn't for sale. so...it was possible. not sure why everyone's so invested in this theory, anyway. if he was clippers or bust, he would have signed there day one. but he waited until they had secured george.

There's so much more I can say on this, but seeing how I'm a Magic stan that seems to be pushing an agenda, I'm going to rob the board of that experience, just like our FO seems to be robbing us due to their lack of experience.

 

yeah, i'm pretty sure that had we gotten ty lue, kawhi would be here right now.

 

what theory, its was reported that he did that, look at the secret meeting he had with PG. He knew the entire time what LAC was trying to do FOR him even before the meetings started. As for LAC or bust, I see it that way, just casue kid/butler/irving story didnt come out till after they signed with their respective teams doesn't mean Kawahi never reached out to them before FA period started

 

You're missing it--had okc shot lac down, he'd be a laker. That's not "or bust".

 

Yeah it's actually wild that even with all of our turmoil and dysfunction....had the Clippers NOT landed PG...Kawhi would be a Laker right now.

BUT...Kawhi was definitely giving the Clippers as much time as possible to get a deal done...not sure if this was ever confirmed that Kawhi asked Lakers camp to delay AD trade on Friday night...but Kawhi gave the Clippers time to get a deal done

 

I'm not disputing that the clips were option A, to be clear.

Always the shots at our FO. I'll just say Rob's lack of experience pales in comparison to the damage done by your boy in advance of this off season .... for whatever you think we did not accomplish.

Magic wasn't the answer and him being "my boy" doesn't excuse the fact our current and past infrastructure has been faulty.
