There’s no point in discussion this with you, because Magic to you could burn down staples with us all inside and with your last breath you’d defend him.

    I agree to disagree.

First off, don't do that. You want to have a discussion, let's do it then. But if you don't want to, don't make insinuations at my expense.

I criticized Magic for the wrongs I felt he or his FO group did (ie prematurely didn't see this through by staying on at least through the summer, BLo, TB, not drafting Mitchell @ 25 etc). The other stuff is laughably hyperbole imo (ie mistreatment of Jules/DLo/Zu, etc).

Second, as the PBO has Magic had his own people around him like Griff has in hiring his folks in Nawlins? Nah...so how can you state with fact that he was a bad PBO? You can't. And if you do, maybe you inhaling on them Staples fumes too long.

Magic wasn't a bad BPO, he's a TERRIBLE one...proof in the putting with all this unnecessary garbage and throwing poop at each other.....his interview DID NOT do a single dam positive thing for the image of this dumpster fire of a franchise, its not gona change Rob from being where he is, its certaintly not going to change Jeanie the incompetent (1st and last of her name hopefully), anyone who thinks otherwise, well I dont have words for that

Why are you so convinced that Magic doing this is going to change anything within the Lakers when he NO LONGER WORKS THERE?

Do you really think his words will prompt action?

If you really think this "had to be done" in order for Jeanie to make moves...i have a bridge to sell you.

Also, Magic leaving the way he did in such a public manner didn't exactly help us in getting a coach as the perception of the Lakers was...not great.

You think this is going to help us draft better? Hire better? Get the free agents we want?

It won't...it really hurts us and once again puts us in the limelight when we were just starting to get back on our feet with a new coach and the 4th pick..

You will NEVER convince me that Magic doing this on national TV was a "good" thing or that it'll force jeanie to do something. It won't...and this isn't the same situation as Magic forcing a coaching change 40 years ago...because Magic was a PLAYER back then FOR THE LAKERS and he was their most important player so he had a ton of influence...now? Magic is just a "fan" of the Lakers. He holds ZERO influence and he surely isn't going to "influence" Jeanie from sitting in a chair on FIRST TAKE of all places.

My apologies, I find your stance contradictory, to you it seems he has every excuse going for him.

    - Traded/didn’t resign players? Not Magics fault.

    - Made bad decisions? Not his fault he doesn’t have his own people.

    - Wasn’t committed to the job? jeannies fault for hiring him when he said he would be part time.

    - Filled the roster with non shooters? Well he’s not around so that’s on Rob.

It goes on, like I said, a lot of these problems are multiple peoples fault, not just Magics, but the way he has handled his exit has been classless in my opinion and instead of doing right by his supposed friend he ran away stating another contradiction.

Sorry I did miss it. Well, that's dumb. No one will want to come here. Front office stability is so vital because it is already hard enough to recruit players to come to arguably one of the best markets in the league but to add the ineptness of a FO that seems to be unsure of what they are doing will cause many players to hesitate. I know if I was in Kawhi's shoes or Kyrie's shoes I would be concerned about locking myself into a deal when the Lakers are looking more and more dysfunctional.

Vas, I usually agree with your take but Magic shouldn't have spoken out like he did unless he intended harm to the franchise that he professes to love. I get that he's human and felt wronged but to air the dirty laundry out is just not helpful especially those he is supposed loyal to (LeBron). He got LeBron to sign with the Lakers and had a plan for another max FA this summer... his comments jeopardize that plan and kind of puts LeBron in a tough place. Our words have consequences and Magic could've just kept his mouth shut and moved on... like an adult instead of acting like a petulant child.

If you can agree to that then I'm with you.

You are always the optimist and I appreciate that. You can take the positive side and absolve Magic but at the end of the day it's like spray painting a turd gold... it looks different on the outside but underneath it all it is still a turd.

My dad used to love this guy, that was 20+ years ago lol. I’ll be honest I was disappointed he couldn’t squeeze one “Phiwee” or “Phiwadelphia” in there somewhere, but I heard no lies in what he said.
