We really traded for this dude. I’ll never forget how he single handily cooked that Suns team in 2022.

I’m going to like Luka’s Dad just a bit more than Lonzo’s Dad.

His dad needs to fly to LA so he can shadow Luka and slap those fries and beer out of his hand when he reaches for them.

i'm not buying the conditioning stuff. i'm sure he'll get better here and there, but these habits are built life-long and hard to change.

someone else talked about this earlier, but we all saw shaq and james harden and zion, etc. it's hard to discipline yourself, particularly when you succeed even without it.

i do think he'll be a bit more mindful now that he's been publicly humbled a bit, but the source of the habit is still there. his lack of concern for diet sort of rides next to his lack of concern for what happens if he misses that crazy stepback on gobert, right?

heavy luka has kicked nba a** and will continue to do so is my guess. we all would prefer he look like lebron, but we'd all prefer lebron shoot like luka, too.

Luka is a generational talent, there has to be more back story we don't know about. Either conflict with the FO or possibly Cuban. Doesnt even matter if they get 1st round pick or if there are conditioning issues and got AD on his last legs.

maybe Luka overplayed his hand with the FO/Mark. We prob wont know until years later

Cuban sold his majority stake in the team he doesn’t have that kind of control anymore from what I’ve heard. He loved Luka at one point he said he’d rather divorce his wife than lose Luka.

    This is all Niko Harris.

I guess the Mav's never got the memo....

"If I had a diamond of great value, four or five carats, would I give up that diamond for four diamonds of one karat? No. There’s no equal value that we can get for you."

    :JerryBuss2:

Now that the trade is done, we need to focus on how to build around our new franchise player. We traded for the future so I'd hate to deviate from that plan... no half-hearted attempts at trying to compete this year. Don't trade our 1st for anyone that does not align with the Luka timeline. We need a big so someone like Walker Kessler makes sense but I'm not giving away any assets for the likes of Vucevic or Valančiūnas.

I think the FO considers our future core to be Luka, Reaves, Vando, Rui and Knecht. Lebron, DFS, Vincent, and the rest are considered as fillers for the foreseeable (1-2 years) future. No one is safe from a trade but I prefer to build this team up properly. I wish Lebron told us when he plans to retire so we can target a FA and build towards that. For now he can be our Karl Malone. Austin obviously starts, but I think he would eventually have to come off the bench as our Ginobili.

    Luka/ Gabe
    Austin/ Milton/ Knecht
    DFS/ Vando
    Lebron/ Rui
    Hayes/ Wood

We're thin at C and we need to get a decent 3&D guard, but man, I still can't believe we how much talent we were able to retain with a trade of this magnitude.

Lakers need to forget about trading for players to get a deep run in the playoffs this year and instead, focus on building for 2-3 years from now with Luka.
Have LeBron teach Luka to last.
Hire whomever it is in Miami that makes diamonds out of coal with their player development.
And pray that Jack Nicholson won't be too old to sit on the sidelines again.
