The poor shooting last night is likely from the knee extension against the Suns. I think someone said his ankle may be bothering him as well. He also is just starting to play back to backs as well. I think that was his first one. Luka looks better than he did last year as far as conditioning. Obviously not like his rookie year because he was only 18/19 at the time. He is a big dude. The scouting report still shows him at 6'6" or 6'7" 230 pounds. That was his rookie year. He has been 6'8" (almost 6'9") and 250 the last few years. I heard people saying he was 260 earlier this year but that's because he wasn't able to do anything with the calf injury.

He's never going to be fast because he's just big and thick. He's not as athletic as LeBron so there is that too. But, he still gets exactly to where he wants to be on the court without any issues. He is one of the best finishers out there. JJ has unlocked a new level with Luka. It's something we wanted to see Kidd do with him in Dallas. He has Luka playing what we called the "Dirk" position in the high post. Between the 3 point line and free throw line at the top of the key. With his passing it enables him to get lobs like crazy as well as hit open shooters outside. Then, if he gets space he just drives the lane. It's unstoppable since he can see the entire floor due to his height.

By playoff time his shooting will be fully back. He has always been durable and has no problems playing through injury.

I mean no offense by this whatsoever. I thought I would have a hard time being on board with the Lakers after years of them ripping the hearts out of Mavs fans. lol. But, you guys have all been so welcoming and I'm having a blast watching the games. I feel a little like Luka. I'm here to stay. Thank you all!

Welp, I followed Kareem to the Lakers, and I'm still all Purple and Gold. Hopefully Luka brings in some more hardware, just like Cap!

I know I didn't like the trade, but this video is going to be forever in the pantheon. "Kwaaaaaame Brown!"

Do I dare ask? Not even sure what that is... lol

I think Luka brings the hardware. Once LeBron is back this team will be hard to beat. I'm hoping for a couple of titles at least with Luka.

Yeah that trade for Chris Paul which the little weasel Stern vetoed wrecked Lamar in the head. AD probably was even more surprised but as can be seen from his words and actions since he’s a lot stronger individual.

saw magic saying that luka sucks on defense, but:

he's really not that bad. the best defensive stats say he's actually good, tbh.

not to keep beating the drum, but if the talking heads are going to beat the other drum...

The eye test says he's actually decent to good, depending on the matchup. He's not a bad defender at all. High IQ + knows how to use his body effectively.

The word was: he's awful defensively.
The facts: he's good - pretty good

There's some limitations based on matchup and quickness ( you don't want him on speedster guards) but if you put him in position to succeed, he's gonna. He's big, physical, great at reading the passing lanes, bodying up, and using his computer brain to know how the play is going to develop. He's a monster on the boards and can box out with the best of them.

We went from the matador DLO to an underrated solid defender in Luka in 3 months is WILD and I'm only talking about defense.

I’m not surprised because he was not a bad defender until talking heads keep harping about the Finals, how Boston cooked him lol but he was at the end of his rope after carrying his mediocre team to the finals

    1) That first quarter was surreal from him.

    2) The Mavs players all seemed to really like Luka. Hard to buy the FO spin when the dudes he's with all support the player
