Really really like this pick up, didn't think he was attainable. Let's go for that back to back 6th man of the year.
Agreed completely. I think this signing has signaled that Nick is out the door. This acquisition allows to explore trades for Nick.
I was referring to the post above mine by Magic, where he said Lou is more mature/a better teammate than Nick. That seemed more like a criticism of Nick than a compliment to Lou considering we know nothing about him.
I think Swaggy has more interests outside of basketball than Lou. Take from that assessment what you will.
I think Lou might be a more professional influence than Nick. Frankly Nick just isn't focused enough all the time. When he's engaged he can be fun and electric, but when he's disengaged he's just not a good influence on the team. I wouldn't blame the Lakers for moving on, but I wouldn't mind keeping him either. I think if you put him in a situation where he is forced to focus every day, he'll be more successful.
Looking back...all that losing can take the wits out of anyone. Young kept his spirits about him even if it was ill-timed in some instances. He could be a solid contributor again knowing that he will be part of a squad that will compete for wins and actually notch some...probably more than projected.
I agree, but I'm also quite sure his attitude didn't ingratiate himself with the Lakers coaching staff and FO. I think Nick will benefit from a more competitive squad too, but I wouldn't blame the Lakers for wanting to move on either.
All this talk about Williams being some sort of ladies man too but at least he shows enough dedication to even have a Sixth Man of The Year award. Young always seeks attention even if it is good natured. Maybe management and the coaching staff are beginning to think it isn't going to pan out and needed someone else with dedication and seriousness. Lifestyle Lou enters the gym, he's within his shooting pocket.
That's pretty much my take. Lou seems like a slightly more focused version of Nick which is a dangerous player.
as for nick young he seems to be in b.scott's dog house b scott thinks he's a clown i like nick young but if scott has any clout young is either gone or at the end of the bench
Lou seems like he takes the rapping very seriously actually. He's also very, very closely associated with Meek Mill who has been arrested for guns and drugs a couple times in the past.
Mitch was sure to mention him being a positive presence in the locker room during his conference call. That's an added bonus and not to beat a dead horse with the Swaggy comparisons, but the first thing that came to mind after that was, oh the opposite of Young.
