Waiting for the Hibbert domino to fall I'm guessing. Already been announced though, so this one is happening no matter what. Same with Bass.
When Demar went down last season, he stepped up and help the Raptors stay at the top of the East. From what I've seen, he comes in the game, scores buckets... just does his job. So glad to have him with the Lakeshow instead. I truly felt he was under appreciated in Toronto.
He can be a chucker, but I think we're going to like his attitude with the team. I see him as a Swaggy type of guy but also willing to put in extra work elsewhere on the floor and as a teammate.
Good solid pick up. Lou is a better more mature and better teammate than Nick Young this is an upgrade.
I'm a fan of the signing, but I don't get why we have to put down Swaggy in the process. IIRC, Trodgers was saying that statistically, Young is actually a better defender than Williams. And in the Clarkson Player Tribune article, he talked about how Young's welcoming personality was instrumental to his development off the court.
They're VERY similar players: mostly one-dimensional scorers, so together off the bench they seem redundant. Throw in the fact that Nick's attitude has constantly grated on Scott and I believe some others in the organization and I think they'd like to move on from Nick. That being said, he's with the team right now and frankly we need the depth. Stay tuned though, I've got a feeling there's more to the Hibbert deal than just Roy.
I agree that they're probably redundant, and I also think Swaggy will be thrown into the Roy deal. But I completely disagree with the idea that Nick was a bad teammate, and I think his defense wasn't as bad as advertised.
I'm with helljumper. I still like young and still think he can contribute. maybe scott needs to be a little more flexible or maybe someone needs to bring those two together. but I won't forget that young wanted to be a laker when nobody else did.
When you have some players around Young, he can be effective. When no one is around him and he has to almost be "the guy", thats when it gets ugly. My opinion at least...
Whoa. I never said he was a bad teammate. He was a great teammate by all accounts. I think when he's focused Nick is a terrific asset, but when he's not focused he's also a terrific distraction. I hope he stays unless we've got a move to get another SF because I don't trust the rookies just yet.
