As much as I hope we get good value for lou, I have a feeling this would like the "steve blake" trade. He was expiring and still was useful but all we got was 2 throw in and then one of the throw in worked out we him go for nothing.

Bazemore for Blake was a great move. Not holding on to Bazemore doesn't change that.

The Lakers got Kent Bazemore in the Steve Blake trade. He averaged 13.1ppg 3.3rpg 3.1apg 1.3spg and shot 37.1% on threes in his 23 games. The Lakers stupidly didn't give him a qualifying offer because they were trying to maximize their cap space. He signed with the Hawks for a piddling 2 year 4 million contract. The Lakers realized their mistake and offered him a huge contract this past offseason but he opted to stay with the Hawks instead.

You can convert him into a pick that you can package for an already developed player.

For what it's worth, that contract is massively overpaying for Bazemore.

    True....

Of course had the Lakers signed Bazemore with that $, then obviously they don't sign Deng and right now Bazemore > Deng and it's not even close to me.
