lou and nick young are the instant O that we have needed for so long. I was always jealous when other teams had these type of players and now we have 2!

Best player on the team so far ...

We would just have 5-6 wins without him

So, in the beginning of the year I would have traded Lou, started Nance over what I though was a topped out Randle and cut Nick Young. Savory Griddles will not be winning any GM of the Year awards any time soon.

Seriously, that last part. He has a calmness to his game that works well with this team. It's easy to forget that he's one of the veteran leaders on the team and his steadiness helps with the usual fired up young guns.

His high school career per Wikipedia:

Williams played at Snellville's South Gwinnett High School under Roger Fleetwood, where he was a four-time All-State selection, was named Georgia's "Mr. Basketball" his junior and senior year. As a junior, Williams led South Gwinnett to the 5A Georgia State Championship. At the end of his senior year, Williams was named the Naismith Prep Player of the Year and a McDonald's All-American as well as a first-team Parade All-American.

Considered a five-star recruit by Rivals.com, Williams was listed as the No. 3 shooting guard and the No. 7 player in the nation in 2005.[2]

Williams, and high school teammate Mike Mercer, committed to play at the University of Georgia,[3] but Williams ended up declaring for the 2005 NBA draft instead.[4] Williams finished his career as the second all-time leading scorer in Georgia high school basketball history.

Best drifting shooter to his left I think in NBA History, if not one of them for sure.

Yeah..I think there are a few of us in this exact boat, but being fair Lou was starting then, Nick was awful last season and his relationship with Russ seemed irreparable, and Randle looked lost out there in preseason. But, that's why Luke is coach, Mitch and Jim are management, and we just yell at our tvs. Except for B0ron, all of us are correct that he is the worst coach of all time and his lineups and "systems" were awful, as proven by Luke's lineups and system getting ridiculously better results immediately. B0ron was an out of touch buffoon and Luke is the opposite and actually finds ways to put players in the best position to succeed. As for the actual topic, it's very early, but Lou has to be in that very early 6th man of the year discussion, he has to be, there can't be many, if any guys playing better off the bench than him.

    Nick
    Lou
    Jc

Boy oh boy we are lucky. Imagine next year if we get a legit star in free agency

True. Despite me being against the hiring of Byron in the first place, despite me wanting all of sirron's Byron gifs to actually become a reality, despite Byron literally having the worst coaching record of all time, despite the fact that Tarik Black was being benched with no indications he boned Byron's woman, despite Luke's ridiculous record with GS and all the positivity coming out of training camp, I STILL underestimated just how utterly brutal Byron was as a coach.

I think I was truly aware of just how crappy of a coach he was.

The amazement of how bad Byron was is evened out by how unbelievable of a coach Luke is.

What a player. He's always our to-go guy, and 90% of the time he delivers.

Did you just beat your chest a little? :Magic Brows:

It's OK. You earned the right with all the venting those Boron gifs allowed us to do last year. Am certain too out in the public some of those had to help a bit in his ouster. Luke was a no brainer but this one late in the game was golden:
