I think he's been our most consistent player, and certainly guard so far this season. Started the game (1st half) really slow, but picked it up in the end. His passing is also unrated in my opinion. Last few games in the 4th quarter he has really made some nice reads.
He's so damn cool out there too with all his moves and skills and s***. No chest thumping / primal screaming / look at me stuff. Totally carries himself like he's been there before on big plays. I love the guy. He's seriously skilled and fun to watch and clutch as anyone else if not more, on this team.
Agree... Lou Williams = Smooth Criminal on the floor. He goes on these hot streaks that you get him the rock and get the f*** out of the way.
Yeah he definitely knows how to get calls etc. we need guys like him right now as our young players learn. What's our cap looking like right now?
I kind of like the idea of Lou being our closer and go to guy in the crunch. At least for now, until DAR really takes that leap.
Yup... that was glaring in the game against Indy when it was the kids out there and we had no answer for George's buckets. Last two games, Lou ran with the kids in the 2nd half and it's been working great. He keeps us in ball games and maintains our momentum.
Williams provides the poise for the team. Warriors stepped up the pressure in the third and he did not let the team lose focus...get rattled. Scoring, passing and making sure his teammates did not lose their composure.
He is the biggest reason why there's no dropoff when we go to our 2nd unit. Our best go-to player is in our 2nd unit. Haven't seen a Lakers team composed like this before. A lot of fun to watch Can't say much else but BUMP bc this guy is balling
Can we take a moment to acknowledge, not only his shooting, but play making for others, and a huge increase in defensive effort?
Williams passing has been a surprise...tuned in as he was assisting Black and Nance on those oops upside yo' head dunks. There was that steal on an unsuspecting Thompson and another one in the fourth on Green. Collins spoke of how Williams was the personality of the team he coached. His play maintains order with that second unit.
The thing is that Williams does not feel forced to score just to keep us in the game. Walton is having him play a well rounded floor game to keep his teammates involved. Ingram facilitating takes some pressure off him and vice versa. Same deal with him and Clarkson. It was fun to see how he grabbed a defender's arm to shoot and draw the foul. It was such a quick sleight of hand only the slow motion can show.
For sure his foul drawing methods are much more from natural basketball motions that the flopping of CP3 and LBJs in the league and crashing into defenders on purpose expecting to be bailed out with the foul like Harden. Smooth criminal is right.
Can we not trade this guy? He's a great fit right now. You need some veterans who will not fold under pressure.
Luuke may unleash and guide with what he wants to see from him the best basketball this year in Lou's career? Along with that potential for every player on this roster. Luke is that good.
He's our best player right now and our go to down the stretch. Made some big shots down the stretch there when they were fighting back. There's chemistry developing between Lou and Nance/Black, he just finds them in the right spots. It also helps that he's playing along side two others that can create/initiate in JC and Ingram. Been very surprising defensively, very sneaky with his steals.
