Guy in his prime on a decent deal is way more valuable to us than a late first rounder in all likelihood. Even if he's coming off the bench, his contract is a deal in the new CBA.
And yet he starts and plays 35 plus minutes per game. It's asinine. We don't need to overuse a 6th man. And I think by definition a sixth man comes off the bench, right? Byron misuses just about everyone on the roster. He's infuriating.
Lou is effective as an off the bench scorer not a starting playmaker. Anyone with half a brain can tell you that, yet here we have an NBA head coach that used to play some quality ball misusing him. Glorified PE teacher is the best description for BS.
The hardheaded stubbornness that probably made him a solid player in the NBA has not served him well in the NBA. His first gig his limitations were covered up by Jason Kidd being one of the all time greats. After they had enough of his crap, Chris Paul saved his bacon. Since then, he's been a train wreck. Just the wrong guy for the job unfortunately, and our FO chose to focus on when things went right for him, and made excuses for or believed his excuses for when things did not go well. Sure hope they learn from their mistakes, because this is painful for everyone to watch. It's hard to believe someone you want to think of as intelligent can seem so clueless. Here are the number of people who agree with Byron Scott's methodologies. _____________
I wonder if the Lakers might shop Lou at the deadline to a contender and try to get a late 1st round pick. Maybe HOU will get desperate and bite? Ty Lawson sucks. Bulls? Knicks? Wizards? Utah just lost Alec Burks to a knee injury and they're sitting in the 8th seed. Even MEM maybe? They have one of the worst offenses in the league. OKC?
If we could get a pick around 20, I might be down. Otherwise, we need to roll with Lou - he's a bargain scorer with the new cap.
If b0ron stays, Lou will be the "new Kobe" next year. Just watch him play 40mins a game and shoot the ball 20+ times
Yeah I'd prefer to keep Lou. I like him a lot and I think he's coming into his role of providing offense while the young guys grow. We're going to have so many young players as it is, he's a great veteran to help lead us into the future. I'd be down with trading just about anybody though for the right price.
We have enough young players .. not a fan of trading X player to get a mid-late 1st rounder back ... unless it sure to be used in a later impactful trade ( which obviously can't be guaranteed) Having both Lou and Nick on the roster makes little sense ... I'd rather try trading one of them for a serviceable and decent player who serves one of the numerious needs we have
30 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals. What a beast. Lou is exactly the kind of player you want on a championship contender. I want him around for ours.
Only way I'd move him for a pick is if it locks us into keeping our lotto pick. There's no way of knowing that though and it won't happen with winning streaks like the 3 gamer we're on. He's a very cheap contract moving forward. I'd rather keep him.
He better be benched and scolded via the media and in front of the team. If he doesn't say anything and I'm Randle and see this, f*** you Byron.
That's embarrassing effort. Lou should be benched the rest of the game. The veterans can make all the mistakes and still be kept on the court. The young kids pretty much have no leash. It's pathetic.
That possession pissed me off. That's the point where I said they're playing "eh, f*** it" defense in Game Time. At least Larry tried to cover, but man Lou just quit.
