Agreed. I feel like if he was on Warriors over Ezeli, he'd be in line for a huge payday. Let him pan out or strike out.

A report is out that the Thunder are trying to get Horford to pair up with Durant. One thing they would have to do is dump Kanter. Who would be willing to take on Kanter for two more years? Apparently his contract is 3 years left at 54 million, but an early termination clause after the second year which he could potentially exercise. I don't know. I probably wouldn't, but it isn't a horrible idea. I mean, 16-17 million for a center is about what we'd be paying to comparable centers in free agency.

Take Kanter if available. Cheaper than Whiteside and likely more mature. Plus Westbrook will have someone on the team he knows when he arrives next year. Oops, sorry Jimmie I stole your line.

Assuming we strike out and they throw in a pick, I'm absolutely willing to take him on.

How bout defense? You know the part where we're horrible at and kanter is a known sieve at it?

Would you rather have Kanter or overpay for someone who is also as bad at defense and worse offensively like Mozgov?

If Noah, Biyombo, Horford, and Whiteside are gone in FA and Kanter/future 1st is on the table then I take it and I don't look back.

Yes. Looks like we are the dumping ground once again but for reasonable salaries.

Then dont complain when we're giving up 110+ per game....nobody is concerned over the fact that even westbrook had to ask Donovan to bench kanter at one point during the wcf? Whats a late 1st going to do? If okc obtains horford might as well pencil in that pick in the 28-30th range. You can buy an early 2nd and still net similar type player....if all it took was a late 1st to dump kanter, okc would've done it already. Dont be sell yourself so cheap at least make okc pay through the nose and make up give up sabonis or Payne as well

Who is complaining about a hypothetical at least weeks from fruition? I'm not complaining at all. You know what would make me complain? Is paying the same contract or more to Mozgov that Kanter has right now. Who the flipping hell cares how many points we're giving up? We're not going to be a great team next season and with everyone gone in FA, we need bodies on the floor.

I'm making that deal easily. Trading for Kanter doesn't even starting him if we don't want to. The problems you're presenting are all based on a hypothetical train of thought with dozens of variables.

No there's a hypothetical in a) the pick being bad (there's a great chance of that, but we can't read the future), b) Kanter starting, and c) therefore giving up 110 points for nothing, and d) therefore losing a ton of games.

Those games we lose would probably be losses anyway. Instead we pick up assets, a young decent player, and we are at least more competitive offensively than we would have been.
