So.. it's like the colored streak behind the hockey puck to make it easier to follow, or the digital yellow first down line in the NFL. Except the hockey thing was actually useful as that puck is hard to follow and the NFL thing is great because it makes it so easy to see when players get that first down. The NBA already has a 3 point line, it's quite easy to see, not sure I see the point in this.

Hmm, I'll have to see it in action to make a judgement.

I just don't really get the need? Was there a burning need for 3 point clarity? Seems unnecessary.

I mean I guess I don't mind because it doesn't matter, just doesn't seem necessary.

So will they still have to call timeout to verify it's a 3 pointer while millions of fans already know the answer?

Yeah, not feeling the gimmick, but I guess we'll see what it looks like.

Yea, this seems pretty pointless unless they mean that they have the technology to automatically detect 3pt shots instantaneously. Then, it's awesome to no longer rely on refs and replays.

Edit: In the future, when a player catches on fire, they should add those gaming animations underneath the player that's on fire. Lol.

If kobe was in his prime, they should just save the trouble and have it under him at all times.

One game a week - on ESPN2 or something. Put in some interesting announcers, see what happens.
