clips have always been a scrappy team under lue that hustles and does whatever dirty work it takes to pull out wins. they added some nice pieces in the offseason and are doing the same thing. assuming harden doesn't get injured, they'll make the playoffs
you can play defense every night if you have the personnel and the buy-in. offense can leave you here and there. we chose the wrong path; they chose the right one.
Yes .when he turned us down the first time , before we hired Frank. The word was that Lebron was pissed that we lowballed Lue,and didn't seem to show him any respect for what he did in Cleveland. Some folks on this board thought Lue was overrated. I'm not sure why they are bringing this up again.
Well, the Clippers bench squad nearly did a very annoying thing (beating the C Bags short-handed and in turn we would have faced a much more pissed off C Bags team) but luckily they choked at the end. Hopefully C Bags are super tired tomorrow...but then again...we know they wanted to "rest" tonight so they can be fresh against us....typical
I listened to the last few minutes of the C Bags / Clips game on the radio on my way home tonight. Easily the worst radio team I have ever heard. Painful to listen to their play by play guy. Sounds like a 70s top 40 radio jock. Just annoying.
It was a damn good game...the Clippers defense is insane. Wish we had that on our team....and then I realized JVG is an assistant there and then it all made sense on how they're as good as they've been on defense. The fact that they can hang like that with the C Bags with all their key guys out was very impressive. They nearly stole the game actually
don't think there's a better coach in the league at getting the most out of his players than lue. their second unit/end of the bench guys took the defending champs to OT. have to respect that
it's also the C Bags taking them for granted In fact...I think a lot of teams took the Clippers for granted when the season started The Clippers historically have played WAY better when they have zero expectations....the last several years since getting PG13 and Kawhi...they've had "championship" expectations or at least "best in the west" expectations up until even last year! But when they've had zero expectations...they always outperform. They don't play well with a target on their back....they have, and will always be...the underdog...and they THRIVE under the underdog label
this. i knew they'd be better than the projections this year because the projections were low. they'll get into the top 6, most likely. i actually think they're in position to make a good trade before the deadline, too. but next year when everyone's like "they're back!" it will be choke city.
