yeah...of course they're going to be low man on the totem pole when they're building a different arena. why is that scandalous?
Because the other team involved is the Lakers. If it was, let's say Sacramento, nobody would even talk about it.
so, it's the offseason... but i came across a reference in an article to the fact that kawhi leonard is funny, and this was the link supporting it: am i the only one who reads this as a guy being totally unfunny and kind of a diva? why are they laughing?
LOL … agree. But with that quad and his assorted knee things that would be the opposite of load managing and he ain’t about that life. LOL further …. this just prompted me to think about all those random stories you come across on line where someone finds a “snake” in their Toilet.
ok, again, i don't care that much...i was just seeing if i was missing how this was a masterclass in comedy. sounds like everyone does this sort of funny thing when they screw up, and he just ended it. "ol' jeff's hilarious. we like to roast each other, and the other day when ted roasted him, he just straight up hit him in the face! lmao!"
i know we've been over this, but man that PG trade...yikes! watching SGA turn into 1st/2nd team all nba-er before his 25th birthday has to be a repeated gut punch for their front office and all 11 fans.
Yeah. I remember questioning that trade at the time and feeling like they gave up much more than we did for AD. Media was blinded by the thought that they ended up with him and Kawhi but OKC agreeing to that deal with what seemed like little fuss should have been a huge tell at the time.
even if SGA didn't blossom like this, they STILL paid more than we did for AD. we got a ring and the clear best player in the deal. they got the second best player in the deal and no ring. their deep pockets have hidden the draft consequences, though.
Different situations. They had a one-time chance to get 2 superstars so that's why they paid more. Kawhi wouldn't go there if PG wasn't traded. They also had clock issues, it was peak FA and as we know Kawhi even ended up delaying his decision. If the roles were reversed, Lakers would have done the same so it's a bit pointless these type of hindsight exercises
yeah, not a hindsight exercise as i and many others thought it was an overpay then. another not hindsight issue is that letting a free agent play general manager for you is a bad precedent. the lakers got roasted for giving up too much for AD (still laughing about this); the clippers got lauded for getting PG. it's hilarious, hindsight or not.
lol, the clippers probably secretly lobbied the league to make the rule because they were tired of dealing with their guys. i'm actually kinda serious. there have been more than a few whispers throughout kawhi's entire career that people around him thought he should be playing when he wasn't. i really think that was what happened in SA, primarily--everyone lost trust in each other because kawhi's injuries were mysterious/dubious.
