Kawhi strung us along to weaken our chances of landing better talent. I hate he’s injured, but I’ll never forget how he and Jerry West tried to bury our franchise.

eh, i still think he'd have joined us if the clips couldn't swing a big trade. they paid more for george than we did for AD because there was real fear that it was both or neither. and he wasn't staying in toronto.

i think he would've gone back to toronto if the clips weren't able to trade for PG

leaving the raptors was dumb anyways. without kawhi they still won 53 games and finished 2nd in the east. i think they would've for sure made the finals again had he stayed and they likely would've made another deep run this season (assuming kawhi stayed healthy)

I never understood why more people don't talk about this. As an athlete my whole life, if you're just taking it easy, playing half a game or taking a game off, you can't just step in and play a full game, multiple times in rapid succession. An injury seems like an inevitability. You're probably better off just taking the first 30% of the season off completely, then play only half the game for 30%, then 3/4 a game for 20% then play your full load for the last 20% to prepare you for the playoffs. Stop and go, stop and go seems like a great way to never be fully in shape....which is when injuries happen.

    100% correct..

The analogy I use all the time is Ray Lewis hitting someone hard when he was playing, versus some other big guy who hasn't conditioned his body to make those hits will injure himself because the conditioning is not there.

Hammering your fist to wood and doing it continuously will calcify the fist so it won't hurt as much versus a person who hasn't punched wood, will likely break it.

Greg Popovich helped start this garbage and it's ripple effect is full throttle now. The irony in the end is even that j****** ended up losing his star player because he questioned his intestinal fortitude.

didn't realize atkinson left them. shaw's a downgrade there. atkinson got a raw deal in bkn, imo. i was interested in him when we hired luke.

Do you really think BShaw is going to take them to the next level? Shaw the player…good, Shaw the coach….not so much.

lol awesome. i mean, it's not happening, but still...everyone getting what they need there...

kawhi to miami would make me giggle incessantly. like, 8 years from now, i'd randomly think of kawhi leaving the clips for miami and lightly chuckle.

It was a brilliant move if you remove the Laker goggles.

In the end, it produced a title for the Lakers. If the Lakers stay healthy next year, could be two. Lakers win.

B Shaw is too old school to coach in this era. You need a company a** kisser to coach in the NBA now, more than ever. Hell, the Nets didn't even have a coach this year. Steve Nash essentially just did the media stuff and walked the sidelines like a fan.

it makes it all the more sweeter that we got a ring despite their best efforts to prevent us from doing so... yea i dont think kawhi leaves, but, hey, sometimes they play better without him -- they may as well use that salary on someone that is available when it counts.
