We need to start a GoFundMe for Jared Dudley to get a 10-Day contract where he comes in against Beverly, and just does this: Then Dudley continues his retirement. No fine or suspension if you aren't playing. Granted they'd probably siphon money off his pension.
just popping in to remind everyone that they lost and that kawhi is a capricious free agent this summer who's mysteriously injured again.
I read the other day that Ballmer just joined the 100 Billion Club. So, at least the Clippers have that going for them.
Pffft …. that’s G rated. Where’s the chest and armpits sweat soaked shirt, crazed eyes, flailing legs or grabbing others’ legs ones. That must be one scary dude in private with all that money and power when he’s pissed and /or wants something. Edit ….well maybe the crazed eyes are there.
And just a timetable idea... WINDOW CLOSED At least they'll be able to add a high lotto pick if things go south next season. Like GS did when they nabbed Wiseman. ... NOT! The pick goes to OKC.
i'm assuming this means kawhi is for sure re-signing with the clips they'll probably hang on to PG and hope mann/kennard make major strides nest season to go for one last title run in 22-23 with a "healthy" kawhi
No truer words spoken. Just think, it very well could have ended up with us getting Kawhi and PG, while Bron goes to the Slips, brings in AD . . . Bullet? More like a 12-gauge slug.
guys often recover from acls to full strength (and this was partial, so i'm guessing less serious than some), and kawhi may get there in time for the playoffs next year. but will they have burned out PG or others trying to keep from being a lower seed? can reggie jackson and company keep up their playoff magic for a full 82? anyway, guessing he signs the longest possible deal this time. and i'd continue to be very nervous about placing my hopes on those legs. people always trashing AD here, but he's an iron man next to kawhi.
that's true (see KD) but kawhi's had trouble staying healthy for years now and he's not getting any younger even if he makes a full recovery, do the clippers have that much faith in him to bring him back and go all in for 22-23 with 33 year old PG and 32 year old kawhi?
I also think Kawai stays but wouldnt be surprising if he leaves, even with the tear other teams with space will still chase him at max $, Mia is desperate they can afford to wait on Kawai the whole season next yr, they have enough to make playoffs
kd was an achilles, though, which is way worse, though he's either a big exception or the beginning of a trend (acls used to be doom, too). anyway, maybe we dodged a bullet. or maybe he'd have been better off signing here, where we wouldn't have had to play him 45mpg in the playoffs just to squeak out of the first round. oh wait, i forgot--that was all part of ty lue's genius.
Looking at it from a non Laker set of shades, Kawhi made the right call. He would be the guy, be home and bring a title to a team that has been useless it's entire existence. If he wins as a Laker, he wins it like KD won his titles. He made the right call and the injury kept him from getting his 3rd title.
2 issues for me: 1. if you assume his health, do you assume brooklyn's and ours? because both would have been favored over the clips, imo. 2. he already won a title as the honcho in toronto (not sure he was really the main guy in SA, but i'm willing to allow it given the hardware). in any case, he had already proven he could win. he joins AD and lebron and he might win three more. i don't fault kawhi for doing his own thing. i respect it like you do. but i'm not certain it was the smartest thing, legacy and career wise. again, he wouldn't have been shouldering that kind of load here. and what the load management philosophy seems to miss (or discount) is that your body might get used to not playing much, and so you can't just ramp it up exponentially for 6 weeks after taking it easy for 6 months.
he was never going to sign with the lakers and be a 3rd option behind bron and AD. that was all just made up BS from the media and kawhi's camp
