never been a huge fan of this guy:

feel like the officials are going to give denver a game here, because the story is we won because of fouls.

real story: early in the 4th, when the game was already over, we had 28 assists to their 10 or 12 or something. give credit, quit whining.

I said in game time in like the 3rd quarter that the entire Denver team is going to complain about fouls to the media, and next game the refs are going to try and make up for it. So far half of that has happened. It WAS a poorly officiated game though, Tony Brothers and Scott Foster were calling this like they get paid by the whistle. Luckily for them it didn’t completely ruin the flow of the game, but it easily could have.

Oh and I’m not a fan of Murray either and I realized what it was tonight, it’s the same thing I see and that bothers me with a lot of young players these days, he’s entitled. Hasn’t earned a thing yet, but whines and acts entitled like he’s a 10 year vet. I’ve seen the same thing in Booker, Luca, Towns, Embiid, and quite a few others.

here we go again - the good ole "lakers get all the calls" and "refs helping the Lakers" talk again.

Jus when I started to like this nuggets team - they can't even go one game without whining about the refs.

You got your a**** whooped and this game was never really close after the first quarter. This had nothing to do with the effing refs!!!

LeBron gets hit on every effing play, same with AD. If anything we shoulda gone to the line MORE.

If Denver is complaining about fouls in the media, I'm sure Vogel will have the team prepared for possibly a different tone in Game 2. One thing about this season's group is that they don't get rattled much. I thought we had too many fouls in the first quarter but we turned to being the aggressors onward. We took it to them and got the calls.

Jokic did have a lot of rough contact from our guys intended or not. Dwight for sure and the Eagle accidentally. Look for Plumlee to target Davis game 2.

so: we got pushed around illegally. our gameplan is to push around illegally.

ok. i don't think denver wants to play that way, tbh. they're better off whining and hoping to make it a less physical series.

If we are to "feel" them in Game 2 and fouls are called...then they should not whine about it afterwards.

What's funny is the Lakers should point out that they were in the penal8like 3 minutes into the game. The refs were just loose with the whistles and then they let Joker get away with a bunch of crap (holding Caruso) to let him play more

Yep. We are bigger, stronger and more athletic than they are. Lebron simply coasted on offense most of the game. They have no one who can deal with him if he imposes his will.

I do expect Dwight to get three quick fouls in game 2 if he even touches Jokic.

oh yeah. and plumlee's a goon, too. i'm sure they'll use him to get after AD physically. just put lurch in space and let AD eviscerate him.

you just have to go hard after a-holes like Plumlee. I used to hate playing against guys like that when I was still playing. They would just flail around hitting everyone in their way. Had one guy break two pairs of my glasses in one game until I frigging cussed him out and said next time, we were gonna settle it like men. Never happened again. He was a douche, those kind of guys play the banger as long as they can get away with it but certainly know how NOT to play that way. Bounce them, let them know that there are consequences.

I do think getting calls is a real thing. It happens to teams because they have the superior seeding. It might seem unfair, but officials across many sporting codes give the benefit of the doubt to superstars. That's why I think a James Harden advantage goes out the window when he plays LeBron James, who is a way bigger name.

Yes and no. In the case of game 1 - free throw disparity was negligible and again, AD and LeBron literally get hit on every play and they don't always call it. Denver took themselves out of the game with dumb fouls, then not adjusting to it, not getting back in transition, and not moving the ball. If this was a really close game and it came down to the last shot or last 30 seconds or something then they can play the whole "refs robbed us!" game. But you got blown out and were down nearly 30 at one point in the 2nd half...that ain't got nothing to do with not getting calls.
