They were off 12 days and they were up 5 with the ball in OT and the a****** piece of s*** refs, like usual, called Horry for an offensive charge in the middle of the god damn court. The the Sixers came back and hit a 3 to bring it to two and the momentum shifted. The Lakers were likely to score on that possession, if they do, they go up 7 and the game is likely over.
I think the reason we make such a to-do about these trivial losses is that in today's 3-point-shooting-reliant NBA, momentum matters more than ever before. So we're in constant fear of teams clawing their way back into games--and by extension, series-- real fast. But as the last three rounds showed us, the better team can strike back with focus and dedication to defense. I expect the Lakers to come out strong and demoralize the Heat real quick.
If we win this game, I really think there’s no way for them to win 3 games in a row. This is a must win for us.
I forgot which series it was but it was also Game 4. We came out the gate with a quick 10-0 run and never looked back the rest of the series. We need something like that but also expecting Miami to hit back. Take that hit and hit back harder, you can win the series this game.
absolutely, coming out strong will set the tone for the rest of the game, but let's also (for the love of god) play a solid ~40 minutes of basketball... to your point, leads don't mean much these days, so we can only afford a few lapses here and there... but we cannot afford to let them back in this game if we do get off to a great start and build an early lead... killer/Mamba mentality only tonight!
They could defend him like they defended Harden. Double a lot. They will force him to pass more instead of driving on every possession. But I'm sure our coaches know this. He's not going to drop 40 tonight.
I’ll unfortunately be asleep as I’ve been working all day the game starts at 2am, but as always, two more to go! LETS GOOOOOOOOO
Yeah. Dragic playing on a torn plantar fascia is a TERRIBLE idea, and I don't say that as someone rooting against the Heat. I say that as someone who has suffered enough aggravating and long-term injuries in my legs and feet (long distance runner) to know that you can do serious damage to that ligament if you over-do it when it's already injured. I guarantee you, if he plays tonight, he exits the game limping off the court looking super depressed. I'm not rooting for that.
For the love of god, can we bench Danny? His bricks really kill our momentum at times and we really don’t need that right now.
Vogel is not going to do that. I suspect he will have a quick leash on him though if he starts hurting us again since we are this close to the title and don't want to blow any more games.
I was hoping for a fun, stress-free stroll through the series to a chip, and then crying in memory and celebration of Kobe, and then cheering up by trolling my Clipper fan friends. Instead...Jimmy and Spo happened, a perfect game plan to take Ad and Dwight out of the game and force slumping KCP and Green into “shot we want.” I just took an aspirin. Yeah...it’s like that. Let’s Go!!!! Legacy on the line!!!
if dragic is playing, you have to attack him relentlessly on both ends. i've had a partially torn fascia--you shouldn't play a few days later, and you can't move very well. if they hop him up on pain meds, he'll just tear it all the way, i think.
