So what exactly is the deal with Caruso? I had to miss most of the game last night but I didn't really care because all the main guys were out. I get home and my grandma is asking about Caruso. (Yes, my grandma is awesome and a big enough Lakers fan to watch summer league.) I didn't know why she was asking, assumed he had a decent game or a few nice plays. So I explained to her that most guys on the summer league team are kinda "trying out" but probably won't ever make the actual team.

So I thought that was just my grandma getting over-excited and not realizing the context of the summer league.

But he's all I've been hearing about on social media the past day. Does he actually look like he can be a rotation player in the NBA or was it a inconsequential summer league fluke?

    Short answer: no.

He played really well, but big difference between summer league and regular season. I also think Sac had a let down once 3 of our starters were out.

I think he can develop in G league and get a short contract down the road. I'm rooting for him.

Let Ingram,JC and Caruso play for 5 minutes at PG each... No need to sign a PG then?

He's probably G League material but people are just having fun with him outplaying Fox. It's also the offseason.

That one game was so good he might have earned himself a camp invite from someone. I hope the Lakers actually.

But if he plays anywhere near how he did in that last game for our games in the SL playoffs, he's going to be on a roster. He was that good

Fultz is done for the SL with his ankle sprain.

Ball has been practicing, but I wouldn't risk groin injuries. Those take longer to heal than the everyday ankle/knee sprain imo.

    Well that's much more boring.

I'd play Ball. The kid is 19 and played fine on back-to-back games. He's got all summer to heal up, he'll be fine. Honestly I'm still a little miffed Ingram is out with freaking cramps. I mean the real reason is he's too good for this league, but cramps? C'mon.

Either way, it'd be nice to see them beat the Sixers.

Yeah, cramps are nothing. I would've been back in OT still playing.

My question is where's Ben Simmons? Is he still not 100% or are they just playing the safe card here? Didn't they want to see him and Fultz together? Odd.

I'm guessing it's a health thing and also that they're convinced Simmons is better than SL so they're not eager to put him in there.
